All along, I was searching for, "My Lenore."
I ran away from home. It made me feel... giddy, to a certain degree. Like a little weanling, finally old enough to scamper away from home, but back then, you would always return home by a certain time. I couldn't return. Not only that, but I didn't have to return, and I didn't feel the need to try and- Oh, wait, yes I did. I had three mares at home, two of which were expecting, and one small colt. That, my friend, was the shackle, chained on my bare, thin leg, yanking me back on my face everytime I tried to do something ignorant. Yeah, thank goodness for that. Still, with the time that I had, between then and now, I had some time to ponder over the relationship that I had obtained with Xehanort, and other, erm, thoughts.
The sky was blowing down its terror. A cloud of pure white, freezing rain fell around me. The few flakes of snow that landed on my dappled, elegant back clung to it, until I shook like a dog, getting rid of the chilling blanket that dared to make me fall into a deep sleep. My tinted eyes peered around the powdered terrain curiously, but my mind was needlessly, a few miles away. It was like I was solving my own murder, in a way. I was starting to retrace the steps from my past, beginning with the last days on the island. When I was sleeping, I'd hear the voices of all of them. It depended on where I was in the point of my life. See, when I thought about the island, I would hear the conversations that I had with everyone. Kairi, Sora, Tidus, Wakka, even Selphie! I would hear all the times I mumbled a few words to them, to the days I would rant and rave about finding new worlds. But, I couldn't think too long now.
I was sort of on a mission, to find all of those who I'd talked to when I first came here. The main one, was in fact, Sophie. The narcissist was the first one I needed to see. So when my voice strained out a monotone call, I didn't stop. I did slow, coming to a halt at the edge of her terrain, respectfully. I ws trying my best to keep the monster inside, but getting into a fight with Sophie would surely bring him out, and I wouldn't know what to do then. I called out again; this time, my voice was almost friendly. I had made too many grudges from my past, so one more wouldn't be the greatest idea. My skillful, blue-green tinted eyes glanced around for the chestnut arabian queen. I wanted to do a check-up on her. Even if she was being sly, filling Jayila's mind with horrible thoughts about me, I was almost growing fond of her. The reason? I don't know, uh, she had a heart, I wanted to help, despite the bumps and bruises she first gave me.
Standing patiently, I called out to Sophie again, my eyes slowly closing. Even in this weather, my coat was still thin, and it was starting to show. Still looking brilliant, my coat shining with a glossy gleam, but my legs were shaking, and I was beginning to shiver. Would Sophie care? Not at all, but why should she?

Whats this I hear, calling from the world of loneliness...
The skies cast their terror over her realm, Sophie looked to the sky, her dark, almost black eyes spitting fire at the flakes and drops that hammered down onto her. Her harks were pinned to her skull, eyes were narrowed, and her black cord flicked lamely by her hind. However, this weather was almost like herself...horrid, cold and threatening. Ears flicked slightly as she picked up the sound of another, yet, it was so faint, it was almost ghost like. Her dished dial flung towards the cluster of trees where a silent Malfoy slept, undisturbed. There, he was safe, no peeking eyes to aunt him.
Again... The haunting cry pierced her harks, this time, her head snapped towards the edge of her realm. Her ears pricked at the sound of his voice. Riku.. She whispered, all along, she had been thinking, when would he return? When? And where would he dare to come to see her? She snorted sharply, and reutnred a faint call. Body took off before her brain could tell her to stop, hooves thundered over her lands, causing the mud and grass to splatter over her belly and legs, rain thundered down, matting her mane and forleock to her face. Again, a call was released, through a small set of trees, he came into veiw, she slowed from her gallop to a calm canter, then to a halt when she could clearly see him. Her head tilted to the left slightly, and a whinny escaped her maw, she took a step forward, then stopped.
What are you doing to me vermon, what is this awful power you have over me. Why do you mix up my emotions and play with my head. I'm a dark god damn it. Why do i care so much about you...
She snorted, and laid her harks flat back for a few moments, but they were lifted as she continued to glance at him. She began to walk forwards and stopped just inches from him, she felt his warmth, felt it leaking from his hot bodice and into hers. She waited before she spoke, then, when she did, her voice was calm, so unlike her usual ice cold tones. What brings you to my home, Riku She paused before she spoke his name, the took a step back, and glanced back into her realm for a moment,m then returned her attention back to the creature infront of her.

Now I'm sober and Nevemore.
The time that it took for Sophie to get here was short of being spent. I remained still, trying to withold all the heat in my body. I, simply put, was not made for these freezing temperatures. Of course, it was warming up some to become spring, which, in itself was a new problem. I would soon have two young foals at home, one of which, I even doubted that I parented. What a strange world it was. I was going to be a father. Was Sora a father by now? Was Kairi a mother? She could always be one, always had that motherly intuition. I, however, had nothing of the sorts. I didn't know what to do, except run away. So I did.
I wasn't sure how to respond when Sophie approached. My body remained still, almost tense as she strode up to me arrogantly. She spoke in such a kind tone, I couldn't help but relinquish any bad feelings towards her, for now anyway. I tried to slow my shivering, and only stared at her, my blue-green eyes inquisitive. They had a lack-luster glaze over them, no doubt from the shock of the past few seasons. She finished speaking, making me glance past her, at the quiet realm she owned. My mug reached out, and bumped hers in a sure sign of respect, before I strode past her slowly, my dark tresses swinging against my neck, giving me a dull slap. A sigh escaped my lips, as I paced my steps across her realm to the edge, for which it was named.
"I wish I knew."
That was the only response that I would allow. The words were barely a mumble. My lips barely moved to form the words of my being. I glanced back at Sophie, blinked a few times, then emitted such a long sigh, I struggled to regain my breath afterwards.
"I take it that you are the only one here? No king?"
A smile played on my lips slowly, the only trace of my emotions was the tone in my voice. Turning to stare at Sophie, I sighed, remaining silent.

Sophie glanced at Riku's bodice, eyes narrowed to slits, then opened again. He was shaking, he was cold, tired. Sophie shook her head slowly and sighed. She was meeted with his muzzle, bumping hers, and then he strode past, Sophie snorted slowly and raised her head from its drooping position. She turned to watch the stallion with curiousity. He stopped right at the edge of her realm, asif waiting to be given consent to enter. Sophie walked up to him, and also, stared ahead. Yes, this is my land, the only other here is a young colt. He is sleeping now. he spoke without emotion in her words, and looked over at Riku, she stood still, and paused. Then sighed, and fineally spoke. Come Riku. she spoke and darted towards him and gave him a firm nip on his shoulder. Your cold, come she set off at a slow walk into her lands.

Will the raven come to bother me at home?
I wanted to resist the cold, it's long fingers closing on my dappled body, but it proved to be harder than I thought. My crown dropped ever so slightly, my light tinted eyes closing as Sophie approached. She spoke, with a mother's instinct; I don't know why I surprised me, but it did. My eyes flashed open for a few moments, and I stared at Sophie, my body quietly following hers. My auduals snapped back slightly as she nipped me, and out of pure stubborn attitude, I reached out and nipped her hind quarters, but after the outburst, I strode forward calmly, sliding up beside her. Out of the corner of my eye, I watched her cautiously, while I responded to her statement.
"And you don't want anymore?"
I snorted in response. The question was more of a direct sentence, but I turned my dished crown to look at her, keeping a sideways glance on the area that we were walking to. I sighed, and picked up a smooth canter, tossing my crown, beckoning her forward. I didn't care where I was going, but just moving seemed to warm me up. The sun was being blocked, but I could feel a faint heat from the invisible rays.

Drive me to insanity...
The mare could tell he was suprised at her quick change of attitude, however, she just shook it off. Most equines thought she could not possibly have room for a heart under all the evil. Most would just take one glance then flee, stare into her black pools and faint. She hated that. However fun it was to tease and torment others that were terrified of her. He followed, he had trusted her, she smiled, a friendly smile, and cast it over in Riku's direction. He nipped her back, the usual response taken from a stubbon brute. A squeal escaped her lips as she attempted a cow kick whilst he was still by her side, she danced her hind around to him and backed up, threatening to kick again, but she snorted, and darted froward into a canter. Making sure she stayed close. Casting a glance over in his direction, she noticed he contantly kept an eye on her, she held contact for quite a while, before stopping still immediatly from her lope, he dark pools rested on his, she took a step forwards to him Why is it you cannot trust me Riku? Do I really come across as such an evil equine?

Home... Calling you, calling you home.
I couldn't avoid Sophie's kick, and grimaced as I felt the fur and skin being peeled back painfully. I didn't strike out again, but I sent a glare her way, and shook my crown in an annoying gesture. My legs continued to strike out in a powerful canter, but just as sudden as it began, I slowed down, to a prancing walk, and watched Sophie do the same in the exact moment that I did. I gave a reproachful snort, and huffed out a soft breath. She asked me that one question. It was directed at the innerlying anger; what drove me to posess Xehanort's side. I swallowed hard, and gave her a level glance, approaching her with a swaggering walk as I responded.
"I can't trust you, because you're so much like him. He has a good heart, but his drive to figure out the heart brought him to his demise, and his state inside me. You are like that. I can't bring myself to trust one who- nevermind. I can't trust you. Not yet, no matter how mean you are."
My whole response was serious, to a point where I shook in a far off memory, until I stated that last words. I gave her a small smile, and reached out to bump her dark neck, before wheeling around and cantering off quickly. My crown raised, and I glanced back at her, snorting in a soft reprimand to come and play.

I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take...
As he responded, the mare listened, for once, she listened, she wanted to, she wanted to glare deep into his orbs for ever. Why? What a question. She snorted as he finished... You compare me to Xehanort,, but we are nothing alike, I have my own body, i don't control you Riku. But deep down, neither does he, you, you control yourself. She snorted softly as he bumped noses with her, but his offer to come and play was refused. Not now. no. Just walk with me Riku...just walk... The dark colored mare tossed her head east, and began moving slowly that way, towards the cliffs edge. Thats where she liked to stand, looking over her world, the harsh gusts of wind in her face,, whipping her tail and mane against her body. The sea water splattering her already covered body. Again, she tossed her head east, and gave a light nicker to him. follow me Riku, this way... She broke into a bouncy trot, and headed straight for the cliffs edge, and did not show any signs of stopping until she was inches away from falling.

I am a natural entertainer, aren't we all?
I watched with a faint interest as Sophie refused my offer. My eyes gleamed, watching her dished crown shake in the opposite direction. My own crown tipped inquisitvely, and I looked out that way, seeing nothing but jagged rocks and dangerous slopes. She obviously wanted to go there, and after a moment's hesitation, I followed. My auduals perked up, catching her skeptical words. They made me tighten my lips, and give a disapproving snort. However, I kept quiet long enough to catch up with Sophie, and marvel at what she was staring at. She stopped so suddenly, by hind quarters tucked underneath me, slamming to a stop before my dainty, hardened hooves slipped off the edge, and falling to a certain death. Finally, I turned to stare at the mare, and spoke quietly.
"I know that, Sophie. But he had a good heart, but his obsession with learning more things, and proving himself is the reason he's inside me now. You are also like that, no matter how you try to hide it. I mean, you are the only mare leader in all of the lands. That's seems like proving your strong. He tried to be strong."
I answered in a voice, barely above a whisper, and then looked away, as a salty wind blew my tassels, back from my glittering eyes. I snorted hard, and then clamped my jaw shut, breathing in the salty air, no matter if it was toxic to inhale too much. I glanced around at a few small paths, and set off on one, trying to find a higher spot, where the sun would reach my back, setting it off into a mirage of silver pools. I could also watch the water, back like how I used to at the islands. I snorted again, this time to the arabian mare, and followed up with a few short words.
"Why did you mock me, at the battlegrounds?"

Sophies eyes closed once she reached the cliffs edge, the wind whipping at her dial, causing her mane and forelock to dance in swirls, she snorted, breathing in deep breaths of salkty air. That was one strange thing about Knifes Edge, it didn't take long before you could no longer smel lthe salt int he air. By the time you had reached the small woods, salt was replaced by normal air. The dark bay mare listened to his words, but none came into her head to reply, so instead, she just nodded, and closed her eyes. Riku brought out the happiness in her, no anger could be felt raging through her veins, it was a big difference. She followed him, slightly behind as he took off up the cliff some more, she dipped her dial and pushed on into a slow, collected canter, nipping his hind playfully as she caught up.
