Well well well the time of the year has finally come. But courting isn’t always a stallions favorite thing to do. Especially when it came to Jericho performing such a task. Yes he was a charmer, and good guy but it was slowly eating away at his brain to try to figure out just what to do for this season. The dark chestnut stage paced back and forth in the small spot he had been walking in. Slowly a rut in the green grass was beginning to form. Apparently he had been there a while.
Though his battle with Erebus had been long past he was still paying for it. The injury to his right shoulder had healed and was almost as good as new. Maybe still tender, but over all nothing to bat an eye at. On the other hand, now the left forelimb was the one being favored. The cut upon his withers had grown infected a season ago and caused the injury to be prolonged. But now it was slowly staring to heal. White hairs were starting to show through the bald spot around the cut where new skin had formed. It will later grow to be a colorless spot on his liver chestnut coat, even the part of his mane that had been affected by the slash will turn white.
But back to the matter at hand, would the mares here really want to go through with this after such a short time of knowing each of them. Well Renegade was defiantly out of the question. She already had a foal by her side. So that only left Illivexas. Thinking this made the brute stop for a moment. It was earlier this year that he had lost One Heart due to natural causes. The mare had held a special place in his heart, she was kind and gentle. Then again there’s nothing one can do to stop nature.
Sighing the male’s big brown eyes took in the lilac trees around him. They were starting to change colors a sure sign that fall was fast approaching winter. Finally the brute made up his mind. A dagger struck the ground as his confidence began to come back to life. His usual proud self showing through the uneasiness that had consumed him. When he saw Illivexas next he would be sure to ask her. Hopefully that was before the seasons changed once again. For now he would remain in this little spot, working out the right words to say.
