Gambler A Sure Way Of Getting Nothing From Something My hooves sunk deeply into the earth, it was not from my weight but more from how loose the soil was. I could not see anything except for a few short feet in front of me; the night was a starless one and the moon was in hiding. A thick mist permeated the air, a reaction caused by the heat of the day mixing with the quick chill of the night. My other senses picked up on every little detail though, smell brought to me the pungent smell of a stale water source, while my ears heard the strange cries of some unknown beast. Apparently I wasn't the only one who had been unfortunate to stumble upon this land. Suddenly two iridescent lights flamed to life right before me. I gave no notion that I had actually been surprised to have the blinding lights flash alive. My body actually slowed down, my blood thickened in my veins and my breathing slowed. With calculating eyes I wondered over the thing that seemed to float in front of me. After a few seconds I discovered that the burning white lights were actually hollow eyes. The thing in front of me made a sound, something that echoed in the marrow in my bones and threatened to chill my heart. This ghost like thing had no feel of life, it just was, which in its self was odd. It must have been murdered or tortured to death if it still clung to this world. Maybe it didn't realise that it was dead that it had only the after life to look forward to. I snorted, my big head moving down then up with the motion. The ghost gave a single blink of it's glowing eyes, it was burning then put out then flaring to life again and then when it next closed it's eyes the thing never came back. Slowly the feeling of 'nothingness' faded and I was left to wonder the darkness by myself once again.
But being with my self was not necessarily a good thing. It allowed my mind to wonder, to think of the past. And having my brain go into memories was not a smart thing, it always had me going into a fowl mood after. So I forced my mind to go to the ... not too past. To the desert, in the middle of the night with the sky lighted by the silver rays of the moon and her shinning children. Charun a mare that had given me a run for everything I was. Standing up to me as fiercely as if she had been a stallion that towered over me even though she was anything but. What if I had been like her when I was younger? Able to stand up to anyone who dared punish me for unrightful reasons? If I had then I doubt that I would be as scarred mentally and physically as I was now. I didn't trust the touch of others, nor the intention of them. How could I when all I had ever known was a stinging touch from the ones who I had been supposed to lean on? But then again if I hadn't been a part of my home band then I wouldn't be the equine I was today. Weather that was a good or bad thing was still undecided.
The rich smell of decaying lumber entered my nasals, it was so strong that it knocked me out of my thoughts and back into the now. My feet had been carrying me for all this time without the lead of my mind. I now found that I had wondered away from the waters edge and had now entered into what seemed to be a grave yard for what had once been tall tree's. The mist wasn't so thick here and I could see better with my eyes, the pupils of them were so large there was no longer any white. They captured all the little light that there was to be found. For as far as I could see there were toppled tree's cut in half at odd angles so that the heads now laid upon the gritty ground and the stems of them stuck out into the air. When day came the land could not grow because of all the shadows that still resides here. It was a pity, the land was vast and if given a chance would be able to be a true wonder to the eye's.
I flicked my tail to stretch out it's muscles and then continued on. Now that I had gotten a taste of what the Terra had to offer I wanted to explore it more. After hours of wondering I found that not much ell's lived here. A few ground animals like moles and rats hid themselves in the fallen logs while bats flew the darkened skies. If any other equines had roamed here it had been long ago because there was no longer any scent of them. For some odd reason I found myself not wanting to leave this land when I reached the borders of the territory. Though there was a faint whiff of other's on the wind and it called to me, demanded that I go and investigate them I wanted to stay.
I wasn't sure if I was ready to do what my mind and body both told me to do. Never in my life had I had something of my own. It had always been someone else's even my freedom. But now looking back at the black landscape of the forgotten Terra I felt a kinship with it. Because I myself had been left to fend for myself, with no one to care. Should I really allow myself to hope? When ever I had that lick of hope had always been squashed. But then again if I didn't let myself believe that I could belong to this land then what could I say that I had ever accomplished in my life? So far I had done nothing with it, now I knew was my chance.
With a fierce scream I hefted the top half of my body up into the air. My powerfully muscled haunches bunched with the weight of my full body while my front legs stroked the air with languid thrusts. My call, my body's movements all said. MINE and that would be how it was for the rest of my life. I was committing myself to this devilish land and in doing so I was claiming my future as my own.
Word Count; 1,095 I thought it was a pretty good claiming post. The only one that can reply here is Charun because she was the one that got Gambler this land. If you want to RP with Gambler then make a new thread.

Charun
I left the desert sand terra behind while I worked my way south, into the dark lands. I notice how Gambler just disappear, but I knew that we had some type of agreement and that was for me to go with him, for him to be my king. I let out a slight snort while I enter the dark lands. The lands was blanket with a layer of thick fog, ravens singed above in the Forest tops, there wasn't much signs of life, nor there wasn't no green plant life. The land looked as if you could film a horror movie here. But I knew there was things lurking in these lands that would even put a horror movie to shame. Things that would drive you insane inside of your mind and wanted your blood to drink.
I lower my cerebrum toward the mucky earth while I took in scents that cover the small path I travel down. It was then I caught the scent I wanted, the scent of Gambler. I began to move forward holding my pace at a fast trot, jumping over the fallen logs that dare stood my way. I let my sentinels lends forth as if to caught any sounds, but there was nothing, just dead silent. With the silents, this let my know that this hell hole was either afraid of the beast, Gambler that was ahead of me some distance or there was demons out lurking in the shadows, really to take us as there prey. I then began to let a evil chuckle escape out of my lungs and out of my inky mug for all near me to hear. It was more of a dare, I wanted something to leap from the shadows to take my last breath, that was if had the balls too. Which I didn't see that happening.
The path began to open as I notice a figure standing in the distance. But before I knew who it was, I could hear his loud claiming scream through out the land as it echo down in the wet bottoms and then to the tallest point of the land, daring any to step forth and fight over this land. I came to a halt while I threw my upper carcass into the air as I reared. My cerebrum tossed wildly, long black tassels danced behind me, front limbs reached out as they sliced through the fogs mist, I open my mug while I gave a threating call back of my own toward him. I then landed back upon the earth while I began to prance in place, holding my mustang boa at a tight arch as if I was a Arabian. My right front limb reaches out as I began to paw at the earth, breaking loose tiny roots that laid upon the earth while I gave off threating snorts toward Gambler.
The actions was just playful because I knew that he couldn't see who I was, just my dark outline. He might think I was another brute, here for his land. But then again, would the breeze blow my scent toward the brawny stallion? I figure that I needed to show myself before his blood temper raises lets a angry rush comes over him. I moved toward while well I began to speak in my soft tone toward him. Not bad for a female eh? I let out a slight chuckle while I began to move toward him at a slow walk. I lifted my cerebrum while I got a few meters from him, nares flares while I took in his scent once more, letting it power over me, like it was my own drug. I then worked my way at his side. My Grey flesh rubbing upon his while I then let my copper lanterns look up toward him while I spoke some more words toward him as my tone almost coming out sexy, but yet frisky. Nice job of picking a home, my king. I then let my copper lanterns leaves his dark carcass while I looked at my new surroundings, taking them in and learning the land marks of the land.
I never thought of myself calling any stallion my king. But I was drawed to Gambler in this sick twisted way. I wanted to please him, whip any bitches ass that dared speak to him in the wrong way or give him a cross word, I wanted me to be his only. Did that make me greedy? You can call me whatever you like, but this was my feelings toward him. I wouldn't say I loved him, but I was sure had that hold puppy love down with him as I lusted him, his scent and everything about him. I couldn't get enough of him.

When my body clashed to the ground once again everything seemed to become silent and then in a rush the world came clashing down. The land seemed to speak to me, as if it's own life was running hotly threw my veins. The earth was my flesh, the grass my mouth, the water my blood, the wind my lungs, everything was personified. It took me only a breafe second for my body adapted to the new sences, it was a natural thing that happened to kings when they first melded themselves with a terra. Every of my nerves were tingling with sensation, my skin almost itched with it. Suddenly a scream ripped threw the air, punctuating threw my ears and echoeing loudly within my head. With my body so newly sensitised it felt like my head was cracking in two. With furry burning in my eyes I swung my head to where the noise had origionated from. Not too far away a dark figure was repeating my movements, its body was beating at the air with fearce strokes. After the body had finaly dropped to the ground I prowled forward. If this Stallion thought that he could tear asunder this land and me apart he was sorly wrong. I would not give this land up willingly, not without a fight that would end in one of our deaths. Though Devils Creek -for that is what it had tld me it's name was- was newly acwanted with me I felt a strong attatchment to it that I had never felt before. The stags neck arched and he pawed at the ground with ne f his frnt hooves. This should be fun, power and adrenaline ran hotly in my life-blood and I was ready, exhilerated even for this battle.
The wind shifted pulling me up short, the wind carried to me a message that cooled my entire being. I knew who the equine was that had threatened me, she may have sparks of insanity at times like these but I liked her. If it had been any other mare then I highly doubted I would have stopped my hunt. My long legs picked up there pass once again, my bulk towered over her in mear seconds. Charun was a lucky one no doubt. Not bad for a female eh? She chuckled at the end of her words putting me in a far better mood. My voice was still dark with the newly refined power so when I answered her it resounded threateningly threw the darkness of the land. "You could Masquerade as a stallion with that scream of yours." I flicked my tail in apresiation. "Though that may not be the bast of things for you since I myself had just been hopeing to steal the life from your pretty little heart." I smilled domindearingly, my teeth gleamed silver even without the help of the moon or her stars. Charun rose her head to
