The sun gleamed off the already metallic coat of the graceful black akhal teke mare as she wandered with surreal grace through the captivating land, absentmindedly picking at a few blades of vegetation that were beginning to grow after winter relinquished the land from its frosted grip. Not that Athena really minded the cold, even if its bite against her thin pelt was quite painful at times. But spring was just so much more pleasant that the coldness of winter. The world was fresh and green, and everything seemed so lovely, like a fairy tale setting. But Athena was beyond noticing the magic of the place; her optics scoured the contours of the land, every shadow, in search of another equine. She had been seeking the company of a stallion, in particular, because she wished not to be alone. Though she was quite an independent soul, Athena had been alone for far too long. It was wearing on her mind to be so isolated from equine communes, and she wanted some fun. She was just itching to stretch out her legs and run and run.
But, alas, nobody was around. For as far as her optics searched, not a soul stirred. She snorted in aggravation, but peeked around once more, a speculative look in her eyes. She wanted to run, and, with nobody around to witness her frolicking release of pent of frustration, that would be rather easy to get away with. A mischievous grin tugged at her façade, and an evil twinkle sparkled in the depths of her onyx eyes. With a squeal and a snort, she launched herself into a swift, graceful gallop, kicking and dancing around the trees with springy strides, bucking and jumping with glee every two strides or so. A few times, her pillars connected with a tree trunk, leaving dainty hoof-shaped scars in the bark. She snorted, squealed again, and began dancing around a tree out of sheer boredom, once in a while snapping at leaves when one came into her reach.

Wooden No Matches allowed
Standing in the depths of the shadows was a tall very dark bay stallion looking around where he was, Wood was out in the dark forest because he could not managed a large land by himself for much longer. Wood was busy thinking how come the light mares he has seen have either vanished or spread out in the land. True Wood knew it was mainly his fault that his herd was not together, but he wondered what he did wrong to drive them away, was it him or was it the large land he lives in? Wood just did not know.
All of a sudden a flash of black light run passed where he was stood, dark colored black orbs watched as the shadow of another horse ran passed where he stood. Moving forward towards the where the shadow of another horse went to. Opened his light colored nares he caught the faint scent of the horse, and it was a mare as the large shire cross stallion moved closer towards the beautiful black mare. He then stopped about three hooves steps away from here. Opening his strange colored maw, Hello their Miss. I’m Wood king of Snowgum Valley. [/size] his vocals where kind and gentle as always. Limber frame shuddered into stillness, muscles locking down instantly upon hearing a strange voice lilting upon the tendrils of a cool summer breeze. Auds flickered sideways quickly, as Athena whirled to face the speaker, who turned out to be a large stallion, possibly of draft ancestry, she determined in a fraction of a second, her onyx orbs quickly taking in his appearance. Her infallible mind swiftly documented his voice, and his name, taking a mental picture of his stature, to file away for later use.
Hello their Miss. I’m Wood king of Snowgum Valley, said the brute. Athena's eyes narrowed for a second, matching the name with the snapshot in her mind. Snowgum Valley? She's never heard of the place. If she wanted to be as wise as her name lead most to believe, she would have to explore some. And what better way than to become part of a herd? There was a war coming up between the darks and lights of the land, and, though Athena herself was a skilled fighter, she was rather vulnerable as a loner mare... Strength in numbers...
"Hullo, Wood of Snowgum Valley," She said, nodding in his direction, "I am Athena."
