x y l o n Black Lake. Mhm, sounds creepy doesn't it? Funnily enough, it sounds like the sort of place you'd like, Xylon... Its dark, isolated, cold, strange how all those words once described you, aye? You look as though butter wouldn't melt with those large amber eyes and the well kept black locks and that glorious, gleaming copper coat... but underneath all of that you're oh so different... You're not some sort of pimp, you're not the goody goody two shoes who's too soft for his own good, you're not the insane bastard who captures mares for slaves and cackles themselves to sleep... you're just you, you're not normal, heck you barely know the meaning of that word. You're just you, not good, nor bad... just floating about inbetween the forces of good and evil. You're supposed to be turning over a new leaf, so far you're doing alright, but you really 'ought to cut back on the temper tantrums and learn out to sociliaize properly, stop mumbling and staring into space, straighten yourself up boy and talk with manners and respect! Good thing this place is only your temporary home, you hate living under another's rules, don't you? What was it you used to say "rules are meant to be broken" well, in actual fact... they are not there to be broken, Xylon. They're there for a reason, boy. But you're learning now, aren't you? You think the world is against you and that you're bad... you're not bad, just misunderstood maybe? But hey, whats done is done... So, back to the present!
His breathing had become somewhat ragged from his journey to Black Lake, he had been pretty rude to run on ahead rather than walk alongside Disturbia, but hey, she suggested they had come here... but still, that was no reason to bolt off from her. But she'll be here soon. His eyes darted here and there, scanning his new surroundings, he halted close to the lake, his gaze dropping to his rippling reflection. He wrinkled his nose with distaste and struck the water with a hoof, his whole body nearly sliding forward and tipping into the lake. He scrambled away from the lake, his ears set back against his head after nearly falling in... he wouldn't go back near the water's edge again, that was for sure. His head lifted, ears slowly lifting. No gulls... Thank god, what a pain they'd been back at Coco Bay. Xylon sighed softly to himself, waiting for Disturbia to emerge through the fog that lined the trees. He was hoping to find more mares to join him in his search for land... he had his eye on a land, a Neutral land... but that could wait, he wasn't in the mood to go travelling off again. He planned to stick around here until something came up... "God damn, its freezing..." he hissed under his breathe, his lips quivering due to the cold as he craned his muzzle round to reach and groom the fur down on his flank, his winter coat was gradually showing on his lithe frame. Arabians were meant to roam the deserts, but in actual fact he'd never lived or even been to a desert, it'd mostly been wide open meadows as far as the eye can see. His head swung round abruptly, nearly causing whiplash as an uncomfortable gust of wind blasted over the open stretch of land, attacking his slightly shivering body, his teeth grinded together and he ducked his head as the wind stung at his eyes. "The sooner it gets warmer the better..." he mumbled.

DISTURBIA
You would be wise to avoid such accusations. I had to admit; my emotions had shifted from happy to confused as the bay galloped ahead of me, never once stopping to wait for my tired frame to catch up. I needed him there, by my side but no. He was stubborn, so why was it he somewhat calmed me and attracted me to him? I couldn't quite understand the situation i had gotten myself into, but what the heck, we were together. I could only manage a crooked canter for about ten minutes, before i was struggling to breath, a cracked rib and bruised sides from a cliff fall two seasons ago was still causing me some pain. I was limping now, barely noticable from a distance, but i was sure Xylon would see the journey had been hard for me. Just once, i let out a shrill whinny to him, it was quiet, i wanted him to hear it and come running back to me, but no. He can't of heard my distressed call could he? Would he of just carried on ahead even if he did? I didn't know, i knew nothing of my new companion, yet. Soon, i crossed the border into Black Lake, the atmosphere changeed almost immediatly, it was quiet, too quiet almost; a thick fog lay over the earth, hiding my hooves and part of my legs as i walked forward, my optics now fixed on the bay frame standing close to the waters edge, i heard mumbling and my audits flickered upright, trying to catch his words, but no, i missed them. I moved silently, the soft ground making it easy on my hot hooves as they throbbed under my weight. Patterned neck extended in a slow motion and i reached out to touch Xylon's rump, stepping up beside him and setting my gaze on the murky lake infront "It's quiet here.." i murmered, my tail flicking at a mosquito that hovered above my carcass. For some time, i stood. not moving, not speaking of moving my gaze. for the first time i felt close, close to what i had been searching for. Although Africa had been gone for around five years, something about this place re-connected us. I let a soft sigh escape my lips and sidestepped clsoer to the handsome bay, arching my neck to the left and licking at his shoulder. "I thought you were going to leave me back then, Xylon." I whispered to him, pulling my crown away from his frame and once more, returning to my position of staring out across the lake, i was alert, perhaps overly so. I was waiting for something to happen, but would it ever? A loud snort came tunneling from my nostrils as a small family of ravens took flight from an invisable tree. I spooked, tail kinking high and my head raised at an uncomftable angle, but i didn't run off, i just spun in a tight circle, calming myself quickly and returning to Xylon, closer this time. My breathing was deep, hoarse almost as i raised my cranium and opened my kissers, vocals carried out in an almost scared tone. "Snyper...?" I called, stepping back and away from the waters edge as i spoke, i pulled on Xylons tail, urging him further away from the murky depths. It's hard to look at your picture anymore. When do you let go?
Soft optics slid across the fogged scenery. Slight inhale shook the stallion's slim bod, scarred facade shaking, tendrils of ebony mane covering my troubled expression. Maw trembled slightly, mature words emitted into the cooled air; they left no sense of understanding. "I wonder what your favorite part of the Lake was, mom.." There was a faint pause, almost as though the deceased patron would show the sandy tinted male some sort of response. Unfortunately, that was not possible. Perhaps I knew that; I just couldnt accept it. Fine crown dipped down slightly, dropping to the lake's edge, sight shaking his large form. Gaze lifted, despite the horrendous fog that thickened the air, staring up a disturbed trio of ravens. I was transfixed for a few moments, watching their flight pattern descend into the distance, and then my form shuddered at the sound of voices. Tresses switched from side to side, ebony limbs flinging backwards from the Lake water's edge. He had to get away! So badly, I wanted to leave. I wanted to never be seen, and to disappear into the distance, without being known, but.. This was a familiar voice. Radars quietly lifted up, listening to the conversation. My mind swarmed, trying to remember the voice. "Xylon." Azure optics widened slightly, lips quivering faintly.
I knew who that was.. Disturbia. Soft sigh grew heavy on my faint heart, ebon limbs carrying my statue forward before I'd heard Disturbia's soft call; "Snyper...?" Tears were brought to the stallion's orbs as he walked towards the voices, easing into the murky depths of the Lake, slithering across it. I remained quiet, talons striking the slimy lithe, clawing out of the chilled water; azures immediately staring into the dished facade of a equally large stallion. Shocked, I began to stutter for words, spotting Disturbia behind the bay charger; my frame lingered towards her, shaking words emitting into the air. "Disty.." I mumbled faintly, unsure of what else to say. Gaze lingered from the pinto mare, to the bay stallion, maw forming silent words. What the hell was this? Eye sight dropped to the moist floor, heavy sigh shaking the lad's scarred body. I grew almost ashamed of my outer appearance.. Disturbia hadn't seen me since my episode, the last time I was at the Lake. The scars around my glimmering optics had yet to fill in with the sandy tints of my base color. My vision hadn't yet returned; shameful expression flattened, crown twisting away from the pair to stare out into the bleak horizon.

x y l o n Now you're starting to worry, aren't you? You're worried she might have got lost, you also seemed to have forgotten that she seemed to be in pain earlier. O'dear. What if she's fallen and hurt herself further? That'll be more guilt to rest upon your shoulders, mhm? You should've known better than to run off like that. Oh, but wait - whats that? Can't you hear it? Its getting nearer. Mhm, sounds like someone is getting closer. Slowly, he turned his head, his ears slowly lifting upward, a distant, muffled cry caught his attention and he stomped a hoof quickly, flaring his nostrils in a loud snort... Was she in trouble? He squinted through the fog, his amber eyes darting left to right, surely it was Disturbia? Yet, he couldn't quite see that much through this darn fog. His frustration gradually built up further until he decided to strike the ground with such force that he could've sworn he'd done a little damage to his leg, his teeth bared as he attempted to swipe the ground with his teeth as though it was his sworn enemy or something. He was being an odd chap today, these sudden, frustrating moods were not helping either. Suddenly his gaze darted back to where the cry had been sounded from and he saw a two toned figure moving slowly through the fog, he watched as the fog seemed to swirl away from her body as she walked closer. For several moments he stared, almost in awe as she walked closer to him from behind, he snorted in response as she reached out and nudged at his rump.
He shifted round so he standing at her side, his ears twitched at her words, "Mhm, it is... Too quiet," he agreed, almost sounding calm now. His pelt gave a funny little twitch as she licked at his shoulder, his ears swiveled at her words, pinning to his crown for a moment before lifting a little, his expression and voice seemed to soften considerably as he spoke, "No, no... I'd never leave you," he sighed softly, "sorry," he murmured, "I got carried away... I haven't run that fast in such a long time," he explained before suddenly realizing how... soft he must sound. He shuddered slightly and allowed that same unreadable expression to slide back over his face, he may as well just wear a mask, it'd be much easier than trying to burrow his softer side. He clearly did have a softer side to him but he insisted on trying to hide it, being the stubborn boy he was. Luckily, Xylon had spotted the family of ravens and almost seemed to calculate they were going to take off so he wasn't as spooked as Disturbia but it may his body tense all the same. But why, all of a sudden, would those ravens take off in such unnecessary hurry? Amber eyes stared at Disturbia as she called out... Snyper? Who was Snyper? Instantly, he wanted to demand answers but he held back and flared his nostrils with frustration, it didn't like a female's name... Was this Snyper a male that Disturbia knew? A friend... Quite possibly her mate that she had kept hidden? No, no. Nonsense, surely she would've mentioned such a thing. The feeling of jealousy suddenly began to bubble in the pits of his stomach but he remained still and refused to let his expression change but his voice sounded considerably darker as he repeated the name under his breathe, "Snyper..." his eyes closed tightly for a moment, burrowing the feeling of jealousy in the pits of his stomach, jealousy was not a pleasant emotion he had come to realize.
For all he knew this male could be the Leader of this very herd? It was a possibility. Minutes seemed to be hours as Xylon waited for this male known as Snyper to appear, his eyes slowly re-opening. And sure enough, through the fog he came... A young male covered in scars, his shaky voice was sounded into the dead atmosphere "Disty..." There was a long pause before Xylon turned his unreadable gaze to Disturbia, "This is Snyper? You know him? How?" miraculously he managed to keep his voice steady but his gaze quickly snapped back to Snyper, he clearly knew Disturbia, hence the nickname he had given her. He threw up his dainty head, black locks flying all over the place, forelock whipping back to reveal the white star that stood out upon his forehead, contrasting with his dark, coppery coat. The white of his eyes showed for several moments as he kept his head high on an awkward angle, eying Snyper head to hoof, his tail whipping side to side sharply. Eventually he dropped his head to normal level, a sudden rush of adrenaline mixed with frustration was not what he welcomed at this moment and he bolted forward suddenly, nearly running into the young male but he quickly veered to one side, hooves sliding on the moist ground. His ears swiveled and flickered back toward his crown his nostrils flaring quickly now, recovering from his sudden outburst as he flicked his heels, kicking the air, pushing aside fog as he strode back toward Disturbia quickly, his tail kinked and head low now, one eye forever locked upon Snyper.

DISTURBIA
You would be wise to avoid such accusations. A soft sigh bubbled from my semi-closed mouth as i realised how tense Xylon was. Why was this? Was it because he was young? Then again, so was I, yet i didn't always have sudden mood swings and grow tense. Was it me who was doing this to him? I began to grow uneasy, and i shifted slightly, further away from him, perhaps he needed some space, too much too soon...when he finally spoke, i relaxed a little, and when he continued to speak, i managed a weak smile, yet somehow, i couldn't bring myself to believe his words. Maw opened slowly and my muffled words fell out. "Uh-it's okay." was all i could say as I swallowed down a hard lump that had formed in my throat. But yet again, after i had called for synper, the area grew tense again. I extended my muscular neck to bump his should gently, to re-assure him. It wasn't long before we both heard then noticed a figure approching, and soon, the familiar sandy coloured stallion came into veiw. I gave a slow, soft whicker and stepped forward to greet the young one with a short embrace. Stepping back to Xylon's side and again, re-assuring him with a soft nydge on his neck. "Thank you, Snyper. Thank you for coming." I murmered, giving him a smile, i paused and glanced up at Xylon, who seemed tense still, after my re-assuring gestures. "Sny-" I began, only to be stopped short of my speech by Xylon's demanding words, immediatly, i shied away, giving a stressed snort and tossing my crown. It was a few minutes before i looked up at the bay creature again. Why was it he scared me, normally, i was extremely short tempered and almost bossy. I wouldn't stand for anything getting in my way. Sidling back to his side, i cleared my throat, trying my best to sound certain of myself, but somehow, i could tell myself thati was confused, upset almost. "Xylon, this is Snyper. His father owns Black Lake. He was-" I stopped again, and looked away, daring a short glance at Xylon once more. "He is my sister's only child.." I finished, doing my best to hold a brave face, proberly not succeeding. Just as i had finished, the big bay startled once more, coursing me to jump at a harsh angle to the right with a distressed squeal. My Audits buried back into my skull and i showed a sour expression until he returned to my side. I flashed my ivories, and snapped out at my new companion, giving a wild snort before settling and casting my gaze back to Snyper. I lowered my cranium and licked at my dry muzzle, taking a few moments before speaking again. "Uh-Snyper..where is your father? Riku. I need to speak with him...we both do." I added, casting a glance up at Xylon, after that, my gaze returned to the lake, and i found myself wondering what lay beneith the haunting depths, i wanted to know why this place was so quiet, surely there were more in the herd? I began to feel uneasy and found myself edging closer to Xylon for protection. protection did i really already trust this spooky brute to keep me from all harm? God, help me fight off the ghosts. You are lost, and I can’t fight it.
Silence fell over the mature form, awkward pause making him shift his ebon limbs in an uncomfortable manner. Azure optics lifted their sight every so delicately, looking at the pinto figure, then the larger male. When Snyper caught the sight of the stallion’s judgmental glare, radars slipped back beneath thick tresses, and his gaze again dropped. That look.. Satin skin across the colt’s scarred back tightened, the lithe feeling a hint of static in it. Expression flattened, then shot his frightened optics around the horizon. Oh, that horrid look! It, it was the same one that Shadrik gave him. The thought of the skewbald bastard made Snyper exhale tightly, throwing a desperate glance towards Disturbia; she knew some of the terrors that he’d experience within the last few years. Oh, if only she knew all of it; all of that cursed story. Mature colt inhaled a deep breath, raised his gaze to meet the masculine form, hiding back the lingering feeling - that breathless nature that left him feeling suffocated - azure optics narrowing, scanning the bay hued monster. As he spoke, the buckskin stallion inched backwards. “This is Snyper? You know him? How?” Mind began to shift back to when he’d met Disturbia, way back when on the Bay. “Thank you Snyper. Thank you for coming.” Dished façade gave a simple nod, gaze sidling away from the bay monster, towards Disturbia. Oh, troubled aunt. Troubled opticals watched the piebald feminine figure jump away from ‘Xylon.’ Xylon?
Eyesight was directed to the bay male, giving him a blank look, mature vocals sounding out into the creepy atmosphere. “I’m Disturbia’s nephew. She and my mom were sisters.” Voice was quiet, small glances sent towards Disturbia. Despite her livid nature, he could sense that she was also thinking of Africa; the mere images of his mother making his heart begin to ache. Startled by the sudden movements reaching his radars, Snyper shot his scarred sight up, seeing the bay beast hurtling himself towards the buckskin hued charger. Nares widened with effort, frame lifted into the air, purely on a second instinct. Maw parted, so badly wanting to scream out the offender’s name - problem was, he’d already forgotten Xylon’s name and was resorting to yell out ‘Shadrik.’ Instead, he remained quiet, briefly allowing his talons to touch the moistened earth, frame pitched backward, fleeing the scene. Stature didn’t halt to unkempt run until he’d reached the shoreline of the Lake again, releasing a shaking breath. Inky tail flagged out, whipping those invisible monsters that clung to the poor lad, form trembling as he eased back over to the pair. “I need to speak with him.. We both do.” Riku..? Riku. Sapphire optics slid away from the contrasting pair, glancing out into the open. Where was Riku? He’d handle this.. He would. “I-I haven’t seen him in years. He’s probably around..” Gnarled shoulders shook tenderly, wary eyes resting on Xylon’s form, ebon limbs skittering around, unease making his movements rigid.

x y l o n You're making her feel edgy. No - you're making them both feel on edge. Stop with the temper tantrums, will you? Or is it some sort of uncontrolable thing, something your body was starting to accept, something you yourself was starting to accept? Well, that hardly qualifies you as a decent Leader, if thats what you're to become... Well, you are going to be a Leader shortly, right? I doubt anybody is going to have the patience for you if you're forever throwing fits over nothing. Can't you be more observatent... Less demanding? It would be so much easier. You're going to start stressing the poor girl out... and Snyper, he's younger than you, he looks so out of place, poor thing... Don't be so nasty, Xylon. Stop jumping to conclusions, the voice deep and hidden away inside his mind seemed to hiss quietly. His eyes darted to the two toned mare as she shied away from him, clearly not comfortable with his sudden outbursts and demanding tone which only made his ears snap back, annoyed with himself at the fact she couldn't seem to be at ease around him. Then again he hardly blamed her, he was becoming more aware of what sort of signals he was sending out, yet it was a sort of... impulse thing - he couldn't seem to stop. It just... happened. Slowly his gaze drifted back to Snyper as Disturbia explained who he was. So, Snyper's father owned this place and he was Africa's only child. Africa... His eyes flickered back to Disturbia knowing that memories of her sister must be painful. He furrowed his brow, eager to probe and ask questions but he held back, inhaling and exhaling slowly in an attempt to calm himself against the unwelcome, raging fire in the pits of his stomach. Maybe it was only natural he had these sudden outbursts of anger, their was clearly something dark hidden inside him... After-all, his parents were of the Dark alliance. Xylon had always been torn between the two rebelling alliances... Light or Dark? Or did he stay inbetween, unable to choose, not wanting to choose. His brother, Desert Fire, was a Light King of a far away place his homeland was in a Valley and he had a huge family when Xylon last saw him... God knows the time had probably caught up with his noble, older brother and he'd passed away...
Xylon wanted to feel a sense of satisfaction at the thought of his brother dead, he'd always been... jealous of his quality of life and what he'd made of himself but he was also greatly annoyed that his brother was a Light King... Didn't he realize their parents would be disapointed? Fire didn't seemed to care about that though and besides, its not like their parents were alive anymore. He sighed deeply, getting lost on the train of thought. A slight squeal of protest and anger escaped him as Disturbia snapped out of him, clearly not standing for his outburst at Snyper, his lips quivered as he bared his teeth... Xylon's ears twitched as Disturbia spoke about asking to see Riku - Snyper's sire. Instantly, Xylon settled back down into silence. He furrowed his brow at Snyper kept his wary eyes on him, Xylon didn't like being watched like that... didn't like being watched so worriedly like... he was some sort of monster. "It doesn't matter," Xylon quickly said as Snyper spoke of Riku not being around in years, he turned his gaze to Disturbia, "Verita Mountain, I saw it on the way here... It looked pretty empty to me, we can reside there..." he trailed off, ducking his head slightly to move his eyes back to Snyper whilst still directing his words at Disturbia, "your nephew can join us," part of him was reluctant to let the wary youngster join them but he fought against that, after-all Snyper was related to Disturbia and he didn't want to anger or upset her any further. He quickly made a jerking motion with his head toward the horizon, "c'mon..." he said quietly before he turned on his heels without waiting for an answer and propelled himself forward into a smooth jog, throwing a glance and a sharp cry over his shoulder for the pair to follow as his coppery pelt was wrapped in thick, swirling fog...
