OOC: New charrie, so the posts might not be very good at first. S.i.d.e.w.i.n.d.e.r This land was new, this land was different. That much even a deaf blind mute could tell, as long as they could feel the dirt that lay so idly beneath them unless picked up by a gust of wind and twirled about in a dust devil. Ah yes, the vicious cycle. So here came the mare, cloaked in a veil of darkness, to these foresaken lands. Few would come, she presumed, for she was not exactly the mare that most stallions sought. She was large, standing at 16.2 hands high, but she would look like any other horse from a distance. Skinny and lean as a bean pole was she, a bit malnourished from fear of the grass eating her or screaming at her in her old home. But this one, this land shouldn't be haunted by her twin. This land should be her own, away from her past and her fears. But would she walk it alone? She watched as couples were paired off and departed, and she whickered softly for someone to come at least speak to her, but no one did. The palomino appaloosa's smile turned to a frown as a drizzle began to fall, and she busied herself finding shelter under a tree, staring out into the open and waiting for someone who could make her forget who she was. Andrae Veni, vidi, vici. I approached the mare cautiously. She might not accept my hysteric ways. So, my crazy mind kept that all locked... in my head. I didn't care that it was drizzling. I trotted forward till I was near, under the shade of the same tree. I looked her over with my onyx lanterns. She was pretty. A nice palomino appaloosa. I wondered what her temperament might be like, but still tried to be on her good side as I spoke to her. I am Andrae. What be your calling? That I had to satisfied with as I tried to read her reaction to my presence.

S.i.d.e.w.i.n.d.e.r There came a sound to the mare, and she searched for it's owner. Her amber optics caught sight of him, and noticed a similarity between them, a similarity that her and her brother had shared as well. Could it be, her brother in another form? Coming to taunt her? No. No, he was dead. She had seen his carcass bloat and contort in various ways. He could not possess another's body. Not here anyway. Not so quickly that he would still be the same age as her. Besides. Her string of thoughts had to stop. The stallion was upon her. He was handsome, she'd give her brother's captor that. But it could not be her brother, for the stallion that stood before her was far too stocky and short to be related to her. She couldn't help but smile as the thought struck her bluntly in the forehead that they would be an interesting couple. "Ze call mi Zidevinder." She said plainly, saying no more than she must in the unfamiliar terrain. Yet the smirk stayed on her lips nonetheless. OOC: Don't ask me why she has a translyvanian accent. I couldn't tell you. Andrae Veni, Vidi, Vici. Nice to meet you, Sidewinder. I smiled, and then continued. I suppose that you know why I am about. Yes, I was about looking for someone to share life with me, it pleasures and its pains, if there would be any. A kind of best friend, I thought. Sidewinder could be her. Yes, she might. I liked her blunt smile. It was sweet but sharp. I could get along with that. Then again, I was versatile. Then again, I was not. Eck, stop that, I told my brain. You are so irritating. Contradicting thyself. I looked into Sidewinder's amber orbs with hope.

She snickered at the remark the stallion made. He was simple, her brother had not been. This could not possibly be her brother. But perhaps she could rest the guilt in this stag that looked so similar to him. Her head was tilted as she gazed upon this brute. He was handsome. He would most likely make some beautifully colored foals along the way, that would give her something else to think about besides her brother. Her auds flicked, and she blurted it out. She was used now to the stallion, she would speak her mind. "You look like my brother." It was a simple statement, but it got to the point. She pranced to the side, and swiped her tail so it hit him gently in the face. He had come, and first come, first serve. She didn't really care who it was that came, she just wanted somewhere to sleep tonight. "Yes, I am no fool. You're here to find mares for your herd. Well, you found one. Do I pass your test, Andrae? Will you show me home now?" She didn't trust these lands. She was still afraid that her brother would come to taunt her. Here, he wouldn't be trespassing in these lands.

Andrae Veni, vidi, vici. I told Sidewinder solemnly, I have no land, for the terras are all taken. I will fight to get one, and must, as is the custom, claim two mares before that. My insides sighed with relief having broke this news and they also laughed hysterically. And, what was worse, for no apparent reason. At least it was not out loud; I had learned to control it from doing that. I nuzzled Sidewinder. She was mine. Yes, mine; and I was hers. The next challenge was up: I would need another mare. Then, the next challenge: I would need to fight, but those things were not difficult, or so I thought. I drank a bit of water from one of the puddles.
