[glow=blue,2,300]Shadrik[/glow]
Winter, had started to come and with it the warm fall breeze diminished. Today was windy and the air stung at the stallions green eyes, making it hard for him to see. Although it wasn’t such a big deal for he knew Hollow Woods like the frog in is hoof. Shadrik didn’t have much father to travel; he was on his way to the heart of this terra. He was looking to get out of this wind and he knew that the river was surrounded by large pine trees. But, most importantly he was looking for Chaos.
Shadrik’s pillars carried his lean bod over the fallen leaves; his head was bent to protect his eyes from the wind and his banner streamed out behind his skewbald frame. He was quite a handsome stag and this rough look made him look even better.
The wind was slowly dying down as Shadrik neared the waterfall. He proceeded down the rocky slope sideways, watching where he placed his hoofs. As he reached the bottom he went to the edge of the stream and took a drink. His lapped at the freezing water and a chill ran down his back. Backing up Shadrik spread his nares and took in the scents around him, none of which were the scent of Chaos. Tossing his head the skewbald stallion called for the chestnut king.

c h a o s ; ; You could spill a thousand words and none would mean a thing. The harsh winter had come, causing the fragile leaves on the trees to fall to the ground, the land was bare in most places, dark, and gloomy. The perfect place for the current herd. Apart from a few, prehaps. stepping out of the rocks, I placed strong legs infront of me, carrying my strong heavy body to the river, where i knew, although prehaps flooded, it was slightly warmer, for the pine trees did not loose their leaves. It didn't take me long to reach my destination, but before i had jogged into the main clearing, the wind carried a call from Shadrik. Snorting, i lowered my skull against the wind, and jogged on, to the clearing, not slowing as i crashed down the cliff side to meet the young one at the riverside. He was growing up fast, i had known him for nearly four years now, and so much had happened in that time. I hadn't seen much of his mother, Lyric recently, so this would be the perfect oppertunity to ask. 'lo there; Shadrik. I greeted him with a cold musky tone, even though the younger stallion knew i had grown rather attached to him. How are you? And your dear mother, is she well? I haven't seen her for a while. I added, wanting some conversation.

Flicking his head back, Shadrik once again pushed his fetlock out of his eyes. Wind was one of the only things that bothered him during the winter but everything else he loved. Especially the fight for survival, it was once of the darker things about Shadrik, and also one of the only things he shared with his half brother Brydon. Who seemed to have disappeared from Hollow Woods.
The stallion’s duo colored thorns pricked up with the sound of the crashing rocks. Turning his head the skewbald stud saw his mentor taking the slope with ease. Although Chao was growing older he still had that air about him. The air that all great kings carried and one day Shadrik hoped he would achieve that air. He wanted the same respect and power Chaos had, and it was his goal to achieve it.
Bowing his dished head slightly, Shadrik showed his respect for after all the chestnut stallion was still his king. And even when the young brute left he doubted his actions would change. As Chaos spoke, Shadrik did not take offense in his tone for he knew that he and the older stallion had a liking for each other. Chaos, good to see you as always. Once again the skewbald stag nodded his head in a greeting. I am well. Lyric is doing well I have spoken with her briefly although her mind still lingers on Brydon. Shadrik’s voice was husky and deep, now that it had fully developed. How have you been? And Lakita? It had been a while since Shadrik had seen Chaos but he couldn’t even remember his last sighting of the queen.

I noticed the bow of his skull, and smirked, he was a good stallion, and one of the few i showed any kind of respect to. His first words brought a nod, then i continued looking at him, questioning him silently for more words at the mention of Lyric, i smiled. I missed her. Ah, i am glad she is still here, and well, at that. You must tell her i wish to speak with her, tell her we have alot to talk about, for i have a slight knowing of his whereabouts. At my own words, i scowled. I was not at all happy with the colts actions. He was growing up too fast for his own good, and falling into such a death trap could come off far worse than he expected.
As Shadrik spoke again, my harks pricked forwards at his concern, i smiled, then nodded, flicking my tail at a winter bloodsucker on my rump. I have been well, thankyou, and Lakita too, is fine. We are ever so proud with our newest dark angel. You haven't met her yet, have you? I asked him. Lilith hadn't stayed long, she was so eager to get out and explore the world.

The two stallions frames stood out, dusk was giving away to darkness and the tempter had dropped but the wind had died down. Shadrik’s orbs where adjusting to the lack of light and his senses where increasing. Night was dangerous but that made it all the more thrilling. A cold chill ran down the skewbald’s back someone, or something rather, was watching them. Turning his dished visage, Shadrik’s green orbs caught sight of yellow eyes diapering into the bush. It was undoable a wolf, they seemed to be following him lately, ever since he drew them away from Emira. A low grunt came from the stallion letting the wolf know that he had blown his cover. Turning back to Chaos, Shadrik spoke. I think that my mother also has speculations on where Brydon is but she doesn’t seem to keen on confessing her assumption. But, I will however tell her that you wish to speak with her. And I don’t think that she will leave, well at least in the near future. I think that Hollow Woods has grown on her. Pausing he spoke again. It seems that the wolfs have become a little to comfortable Chaos, I found them stocking Emira the other day. His voice was deep but low, he didn’t want Chaos to think that he was judging his ruling or control.
Shadrik stood with his ears still attentive, to the chestnut’s words. It’s good to hear that you are both well. No I am afraid that I have not met the newest heir. However, I have heard of her. Shadrik, had heard about Lilith from Emira. But, he wasn’t sure what to make of the new foal, for she would pose a threat to Emira’s power. With the thought of his mate Shadrik figured he mine as well state his reason for calling on the king. Chaos, I wanted to ask your permission to stay at Hollow Woods for another year. Emira has conceived and she wants to stay in Hollow Woods until the foal is string enough to leave. I understand if you would rather that we find our own land. Pausing for a moment the skewbald equine looked at the stallion standing before him trying to figure out what he was thinking. However, as Shadrik figured, Chaos’s features showed nothing. I felt that it was right to ask for your promotion before we made any real plans.
Well there it was he had asked. Shadrik wasn’t nervous about telling Chaos he was just skeptical about his answer. The young stallion assumed, along with Emira, that the king wouldn’t mind. However, just incase they had assumed wrong Shadrik had gone out and looked at the open tetras. But he knew that Emira would be stressed and nervous if she had to move while pregnant. Plus Shadrik knew that she wasn’t ready to leave Hollow Woods, it was the only home she had ever known.

c h a o s ; ; You could spill a thousand words and none would mean a thing. Darkness was falling, at last. The que for the wolf pack to waken and prowl. Hearing, like Shadrik, a rustle in the dead branches behind the skewbald colt. Harks napped back, i knew who it was before he revealed yellow eyes. Cracken.. The snarl came out low, as a mere warning to the male dog. Nares widened then softened as he darted away, unseen, through the trees. Snorting, nostrils brought out great tunnels of frozen air, and my concentration returned back to the colt. Harks pricked forward at his words, intently i listened. Paused after he had finished, took a step forward and replied. Ah, good. I'm glad she won't be leaving anytime soon. And yes, the wolves. Many times i have spoken with their pack leader, Cracken, many a times before. Hmm; prehaps a murder to their pack would sort things out. I cackled at my thought. Maybe Shadrik would like the oppertunity to kill. As he spoke about Lilith, i just smirked, and nodded sharply. My mind wandering to what the little tyke would be getting up to, now it was dark. At his next words, i simply nodded. Of course. 'tis a pleasure, Shadrik, for you are a part of this band. Not just someone who is staying here, because they have nowhere else to go. Plus, i think it is wise for young Emira to stay here for another year, until she learns a bit more about the outside world. I explained, stepping forward and tugging playfully on the colts mane. He was just like an extra son. I admired him for all he had done for the herd.

Orbs watched as the kind disciplined the alpha wolf. Shadrik had had little to no contact with any of the wolf pack, and he started thinking that he should change that. Instill a little fear perhaps? With the sound of bare earth being crushed Shadrik turned back to Chaos. The stallion’s harks pricked forward with the mention of a murder. It was if the chestnut had read his mind. Oh how long had it been since the skewbald one had done something dark… it had been too long.
Shadrik’s body tensed with excitement, and his eyes flashed with evil. It had been a long time since he had shown this side of himself. Emira tended to bring out the neutral side of Shadrik, but trust me he could have been a full fledge dark. And at this moment he was. If your threats have fallen on deaf ears, perhaps, a murder would be best. The stallions vocals had become more demonic. However, as soon as Emira was mentioned the demon disappeared and the laid back brute took charge. The evil in his orbs was replaced with love and trust. He was W-H-I-P-P-E-D. Relief came over the skewbald stallion. He wouldn’t have minded finding his own land but he knew that it would only cause Emira stress. Its an honor to be part of this band Chaos, I will always be in debt to you for taking me in. And I want you to know that I will protect Emira and our child with everything I have. The tone of Shadrik had once again changed, he became very serious. For after all he knew how much Emira meant to Chaos and Lakita.

Dark eyes glowed with streaks of silver as the moon rays caught my glance. Shadrik seemed to pick up on the fact of a murder and i chuckled. murder Cracken, their leader, prehaps that will drive them away. I licked at my tender blood stained maw and shook my tassles away from my face. Snorting with discust at the wolf pack advancing on my heiress.
For a few moments, i stood still; surveying the situation, how we would go about killing the lead wolf. Sure, it would be easy, but we had to keep things quiet, if the whole pack found out, things would turn ugly. We had to do things fast. Shadrik; tonight, corner him, take him down. Kill him. There will be a herd meeting very soon. I shall give you until then to do it. I knew he would love the oppertunity to kill. Well, if Emira hadn't turned him soft, of course.
Glancing up at the moon, i snorted, it was about time i headed off the south of the lands, that was often where loners could be found wandering. I glanced in that direction, before turning back to the young colt. Was there anything else colt? I asked him. If not, i would dissapear, go bout my duties, and meet up with him again in the herd meeting. If he had more to say, i would stay, and listen.
