Diamonds embraced the earth as the mother and foal pair moved graciously along the wind swept grass. The sun was softly shinning threw the promising rain clouds above them, it was a perfect day for a family run. --------------------------------------------------------------------------
Loving the slight breeze that ran threw my banner and tassels, I ran faster and faster until i heard a small call from behind me. I was so deep in thought that I forgot the my little colt wouldn't be able to keep up with my. Slowing to a walk I turned my boa and spoke to the painted foal What's wrong? Couldn't keep Up? Teasing him a shook my mane and stopped to wait. Watching him run to me brought back memories. Memories that I was not found of. It was less then a fall ago when my warrior and his father had been killed by a powerful black stallion who had nothing but hate in him. We were lucky to escape, Shadrik was so young and as an experienced mother I thought for sure the brute would have caught him, but Nirbhay. A small pain on my muzzle awoke me. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Laughing as she teased me I ran faster and when I got to her I knew what she was thinking about. Dad. She got like this every time she thought about him, and it saddens me to see her like this. I decided that I would try and get her out of the mood and nipped at her maw, she was taken aback but quickly responded as I knew she would. I loved her she was the only parent I had ever really known and she was the best.
We played for hours and I soon become to tired to go any longer. I lay down under the shade of a large Oak Tree. Knowing I was exhausted my mother stood over me as I drifted of into a light slumber.

[/center] You could spill a thousand words and none would mean a thing...
The dark chestnut stallion watched the mother and foal from the shadows, tail flicked lamely against his sides and he snorted softly. Taking a step forward, Chaos revealed himself from the trees. He trotted over to the mare, and glanced down at the sleeping foal. His voice was dark, silky, and icy, it awakened the area around the equines. You know, wench. It is not safe here, for you, or your sleeping foal. You should never let down your guard in the lands of Midnight Acres. He spoke nothing but the truth, Midnight Acres was such a dangerous place, with the lights and darks always battling it out to rule the lands. I am Chaos, great ruler of Hollow Woods, and you are? He asked, this time, his voice slightly softer.

Four limbs brought the mare in front of her foal as the chestnut carcass approched. The painted fae became tense and focused on the brute. Auds flicked toward the brute as he spoke. His voice was icy and dark just as the hundreds of stallions that had come across her path before. Lyric's stance was that of a pure Arabian bloodline, a arched boa and high set tail that was flowing with the slight wind. Surprised by his change of tone as he introduced himself Lyric figured she should return her curse for a common courtesy.
Torturing Lyircs is the name that i was cursed with. But, I am called Lyric. Voice was dark but yet still had the teasing hint that faes hold in their voices. Feeling movement behind her Lyric knew that Shadrik was woken by Chaos presents. The mother moved so that her foal was safely hidden behind her, for she did not know how he would react to the young one.

Chaos peered 'round the arabian mare to look at the colt that lay beneath her. He snorted softly and took a small step forward. He was good at being nice with mares and foals, he had that special charming power. He shut his eyes momentarily, then opened them and spoke. Ah, what a pleasure Lyric. And your young one is cursed who? he asked, taking another step forward as he heard the colt stir, he wanted to make sure that the youngster had such a mighty stallion in his presence. He snorted softly again and waited for the mother to speak. She would be perfect for his herd, a pure arabian, like every other but the slave mare. But, he would soon be rid of her, and he would trade her foal for either another, or a mare.

Orbs did not leave the stallion one, Lyric was not stupid, and she wouldn't let her guard down with any horse, especially a dark stallion. She allowed his first step towards Shadrik, and she flicked her auds on Chaos as he spoke.
Shadrik, is what curse has fallen upon him
When Chaos stepped closer to the foal Lyric moved in front of him and snorted. Body flexed and she paws the ground lightly with her hoof. He was crazy if he thought he was getting close to him, for Lyric was very protective of all her foals but, Shadrik held a special place in her heart. Getting her point across the fae let her body relax and her ears stand half way erect, to show that it would not be pretty if he made another advancement. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Awoken by the presents of the stallion the pinto foal brought his strong legs underneath him. Seeing his mother move in front of him Shadrik took a few steps back as to not get involved in what was going on. Lowering his head he peered under his mothers belly, to see long chestnut legs that resembled his and his mothers. Shadrik snorted and shook his mane, but he was nervous because of the way his mother was acting. What did the stallion do to upset her? The thought left his head when he felt his mother relax.
Thinking that the situation was ok the foal stood next to his mothers hindquarters his flank touching her mid leg.

Chaos auds snapped back momentarily as she stopped his advance on the colt, did she not trust him? Why not? He smirked, no one trusted a dark stallion. Ah Shadrik, what a wonderful name, he dipped his head to gaze at the youngster between his mothers legs, You can come out of hiding you know, i'm no threat. He switched his gaze back to Lyric and looked into her eyes, would she beleive him? He did not want to hurt such a wonderful mare and her precious foal. Snorting sharply, he took a step back so there was room for the colt to expose himself. and then spoke again, tones silky and dark So tell me Lyric, where are you from? And why do you wander alone with your colt when the lands of Midnight Acres are so dangerous?>

Stepping next to his mother Shadrik was now fully visible to the stallion, his painted coat was slightly litter then his mothers. The foal stood tall and proud no fear was sensed from the foal. His body shook as ones would when waking up from a sleep, orbs looked at the stallion, taking in the figure.
Thank You Sir
Lyric had taught her son to have manners to those who complemented him, yet spite to those who ringed him, and this stallion had so Shadrik felt obliged. Feeling his mother tense Shadrik knew that she was uneasy with this stallion and so he stood calmy but waiting for her sign to run. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Knowing that her son would come out from behind her Lyric became slightly apprehensive, although she didn't sense aggression from Chaos, she knew that all stallions had sudden out burst and this ones name made her even more uneasy, for there was a reason he was cursed with Chaos. As the stallion connected orbs with her the fae closed off all emotion, it was dangerous to let others know how you were feeling and this mare was good at cutting off all emotions. Telling to much of your-self was something this fae never did. Lyric never spoke of her past for it was not a pretty one and she put it behind her never to be thought of again, but she would tell of her first home land for it was so far back that she didn't;t even know if it still existed.
Originally I am from the Deathly Hallows band. Looking down at Shadrik to make sure he was ok she smiled there he stood tall and alert not faze by Chaos presents.
Shadrik and I are merely passing threw. We will be gone before night fall
That was the life the two lived always traveling they never stayed in one place. Shadrik had never even belonged to a herd sense his fathers death almost a year ago.

Chaos snorted softly as the colt spoke with such great manners, hi dipped his head slightly in a greeting, then brought it back up to the painted fae, he arched his muscular, chunky neck, in the way only pure blooded arabians could, and blinked when she said the pair would be gone by nightfall. Gone where exactly? he asked, licking his lips as they were dry from the summer heat. You know, Lyric, Shadrik...I have a perfectly good home, Hollow Woods, it's not too far from here, would you like to come back with me? He asked, his tone was soft towards his mares, and any other, but still held that silky, icy tone.

Shifting her body from one side to the other and the back to her original position, Lyric became suddenly comfortable around Chaos. Was she trusting him? No she couldn't be she didn't trust easily and a dark stag, never.
Then it came the question she had been anticipating, the famous stag will you come with me to my home. Numerous times Lyric had been asked this question and all she had turned down. But, despite her efforts the word no would not come out of her mouth. What was wrong with her?
Looking down at Shadrik she knew that he needed a stable environment. It wasn't good for a foal to be constantly on the move with only on other companion, hell it wasn't good for any horse. Seeing him lower is head in disappointment sent pain straight to Lyrics heart the pain of guilt. Shaking her boa, she focused her orbs back on Chaos, who was patiently awaiting his answer. It was for Shadrik he needed to be socialized with others or he would never learn, even if Lyric taught him, he needed the first hand experience.
Your offer is gracious Chaos. Shadrik and I would br delighted to come to your home
There it was it was decided she would give Shadrik the life he wanted, the life he deserved.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As the chestnut stag nodded to me I felt safe around him, I could tell he was intending no harm to me or my mother for once and that was a relief. I was getting tired from always being on the run from various stallions and I just wanted to walk away from this one and continue on until the next that would inevitably come.
When he asked her if we would join his herd something inside of him wanted her to say yes, but he knew she wouldn't she never had and she probably never would. Sighing Shadrik lowered his head slightly, but quickly brought it up to stare in amazement at his mother. Did she just accepted Chaos offer? It couldn't be he must be hearing things.
