You could spill a thousand words and none would mean a thing. [/font]
About time...the great Chaos had managed to get himself a mare, making him able to claim a land. He stepped lightly into the lands known as Hollow Woods, and made his way to the clearing in the center of the lands, the ground was covered with pines from fall, they were rotting, along with dead leaves on the floor, and a few trees drooped. A smile creased into Chaos's dial, he stepped slowly into the clearing, nearing the middle, his front legs gave up contact with the earth in an almost vertical rear, his forelegs slashed at the air around him, he struk out three times with the right leg, then returned to the ground. I, Chaos, claim Hollow Woods as my own, any bastard who thinks themself worthy of these realms must first go through me. he roared, his voice echoing across the lands for miles and miles.
The chestnut walked over to the rushing river near the edge of the clearing, here, a small shore could be seen, it was quite a drop from the clearing to the 'beach' but there was a narrow pathway leading down. Walking steadily down it, once he reached the bottom, he lowered his skull and drank from the clear stream. Raising his head, he called out to Eris, his new mare, tellin her to come to the riverside near the clearing. If she behaved, prehaps he would consider keeping her as a commoner mare in the herd, however, if she didn't he would simply have to keep her a slave, seen as she wasn't a true dark horse.

I heard a call, one that was echoing far and near. I followed it, spotting the stag near a river. I kept my head low and approached him. I raised my head as I neared and watched him. You called for me... I said, simply with a hint of sadness. I took a deep breath and waited for him. I lowered my head to the water and took a gulp. It was crisp and refreashing. I raised my head quickly and backed away from the edge. I waited in silence, for the shadow of a stag to speak those harsh lyrics once more.

Chaos heard the mare before he saw her, he stood still, watching her approch with narrowed eyes, his harks were released forward a little so he didn't look as mean. Not so quiet are you. he snapped, clacking his teeth into the air. We shall have to work on that one, for i will have many tasks for you to complete, and they will not be easy for you if you continue to approch like you were some sort of gigantic beast. be light on your hooves Eris. he spoke sternly, shaking his head down to the ground, he snorted into the wet pines and snad then brought his head up. he was taller than her, muscles rippled under his dark chestnut coat, and he flicked his tail. We need to run over a few rules. he spoke suddenly, stepping forward and nipping lightly at her neck. First of all, this may be the most important. You will not leave these lands without my permission, you are doomed to stay here for the rest of your life, carry my spawn when the time comes, give birth to strong, healthy foals. He stepped back again and circled her. Secondly, you will not invite anyone into my lands. he hissed into her right audit, clacking his teeth close to her poll, he swung around and went around to her left ear And last but certainly not least. he paused, edging his muscular bodice up so it touched hers. Do as i say, or be punished. Simple. he hissed, barely above a whisper, with that, he slipped away, through the trees, but not to far away so the mare and stallion could not see each other. He waited patiently for her to approch and respond in some way to his rules.

I stayed still as I listened to his eery whispers. I closed my eyes as I felt him move around my body, then pnce again I listened. I opened them as soon as I felt the wind from his body move away. I watched him dissapear into the trees. What did he mean when he said he had tasks for me? I waited a few minutes and trotted after him. What did you mean by tasks I had to do for you? I asked, confused slightly. I listened carefully, incase I missed anything. I took another step forward, the leaves cruching under my weight.

Chaoss's harks flicked backward when he heard her voice, he stoped but didn't turn around and face her, he waited until she had come after him before he let icy lyrics pour from his mouth. When the time comes, you'll find out he snarled. He wanted to keep her curious. But don't worry yourself, they will begin easy, progress to slightly harder ones. He flicked his tail and turned around. Anything else? he asked her, in a slightly politer tone. He tret his mares with respect, no matter what. A slight wind was picking up, and tiny flakes of snow began to fall from the white blanket above. It was quite a heavy snowfall, and already, some flakes were laying on the ground, sheltered slightly from the trees and the covering cliff above him, Chaos gazed to the sky, grumbled, then looked back at Eris. Come on, theres a large shelter I know of, about a 5 minute walk from here, this storm is only just beggining, it's not safe for us to stay here. he stepped forwards and backtracked onto the cliff path, nodding at Eris for her to follow. He watched the ground, his strong hooves making imprints in the falling snow, already, it was half way up his hooves in some places. He broke into a steady trot across the clearing, here, the wind was high, and flakes were flying in all directions, he turned his head Hurry Eris. and flicked his tail, and drove on through the blizzard. reaching the other side of the clearing, the brute dipped his head so he could fit under the trees, here, they were clustered together so tightly it was a slight squeeze to fit around all the trunks. Within five minutes, the brute had reached a large thicket, where the tree trunks made a large circle, but their leaves and branches so clustered, it let no wind, rain, snow or cold into the area.

While he had his back turned, I listened to his lyrics and thought, confused. What did he mean? As he turned to face me, I straightened up and looekd at him again. No, m'lord...Sorry to have disturbed you! I said, dipping my head once and turning slowly. As I walked away, I sighed. I need to find a place to rest and think. Then, I could go over everything in my mind. I sighed and began to trot, my tail raised slightly and my head held high. I looked around, stopping after a while and looking round to look at the shadow

Chaos listened to her words. He dipped his head when she spoke, then brought it back up It's okay, you sound like you fear me, you needn't aslong as you do as your told, I won't harm a hair on your back. Don't be afriad of me. he stepped up to her and blew into her nostrils respectfully. This place will be known as the thicket, if i'm not around, please will you come here if there is any danger or trouble, or if the weather turns really bad. Here, you will be safe, safe from the weather... he looked up to the sky, which was difficult to see, then turned back to her And also safe from any other creature that wishes to harm you, for it is difficult to find for an outsider. he chuckled to himself, the turned and walked away from her, to the other side of the thicket. Here, the river had faded to a stream, it could be heard, but not seen from the thicket, and you had to step outside for a drink. Here, Chaos watched over his lands, the thicket was in the high part of the forest, so he could see most of his realm from this spot.

So the shadow had feelings? As I stood listening to his words, I suddenly felt a little more...at home, shall we say. I dropped my head and grazed in the center of the field. The grass was both sweet and wet. I sighed, snorting all the cut pieces everywhere. I raised my head as the shadow began to walk away, dissapearing into the darkness. I watched him till I could not spot him anymore. I looked around the deserted lands, they were pretty. I began to follow him, stopping at the edge of the thicket. I snorted and grazed there, on the spot. It was quiet shady.

Chaos stood and watched his lands for atleast ten minutes, nothing moved, prehaps from the odd bird in the sky or grass snake, sofar, there had been no wolves smelt or spotted, that was good, however, if Chaos was to find some wolves, they would be killed anyway. He hated the creatures. The sun was slowly slipping from the sky now, casting shadows over the terrain, Chaos's coat shone a strong copper gold in the sunset, he sensed Eris behind him, but didn't turn his head, instead, he waited for some reaction or comment off her, he shook his dial softly and snorted into the ground.

As I heard Chaos snort, I looked up and watched him. I rolled my eyes and entered the thicket. I stepped lightly and approached with caution. I stood to the side of him and looked out across the landscape. It was quiet and lonely. I glanced quickly at him, and lowered my head as I flicked my vision back to survey the lands again. I shifted my weight from one hind leg to the other and flicked my tail. My body shuddered with the cold, my eyes closing slightly. It was so peaceful. I sighed, taking in more of the pleasant, fresh air

Chaos glanced across at Eris, he walked towards her, and nipped lightly at her mane and neck. The sunset had finished now, and the sky held no light what so ever. In the distance, Chaos heard the lonely call of an eagle, harks pricked towards it, but then fell sideways, he turned back to Eris. It's time to rest now he spoke sternly, but with a little warmth. He walked over to the edge of the thicket, a strong wind whipped at his muscular body, making his coat ripple, his mane and tail streamed out beside him. He walked back to the centre of the thicket to stand close to Eris. Tomorrow, we will explore the lands, but for now, you rest, i'l watch over you.

I looked at the ground as he approached and lightly nipped at me. I felt safe with such a stag around. I looked up again as he walked away and stood boldly, then returned. I listened to his words, they were still full of strength and stren, but they held warmth which helped me to follow him. He suddenly seemed caring to me, as he said he'd watch over me. I smiled and took a step towards him. Thank you, Chaos. I spoke sweetly, my head dipped a little and stayed there. I didn't have to worry about anything with him around.

Chaos nodded slyly, No problem. his words where quick and sharp. He flicked his cord sharply, making a whipping noise through the air. He snorted lightly then returned to his watching place. His little spy cove, from the top of the lands. What an excellent place to be, he thought to himself. He snorted again, and eyed a few birds that were nestling in the tree tops further down the mountain, then turned his attention northbound, from this place, he could see for miles and miles.
