( taya )
- I haven’t seen a single shooting star.
- I haven’t seen a single shooting star.
Winter's arrival had certainly brought on a load of distractions, she could admit. Mind reeled over the chilling months, playing back all of the events that had happened. Beyond her emotional distress, the sun was beginning to rise above the Grove's thick canopy of trees. Sunlight spilled over the mare's slightly dished facade, warming her chilled, stiff bones. Soft exhale left Taya's pale lips as she glanced towards the sun, watching it begin it's journey upward. Of course, she now knew why Alix enjoyed the nature so much. Soft smile rose to the mare's expression, exhaling a gentle breath, emerald orbitals watching the plumes of steam spiral toward the sky, before evaporating, and disappearing. Gaze was lowered to the horizon again, creamy hued tresses cascading down Taya's feminine figure, and every so often, she'd arch her neck just so, watching the tassle-like ends dance about, before settling down in their usual position. Nares cupped in the the freezing air, glad when the sun dipped behind a set of thick clouds that threatened to unleash their frosted fury. The mare inhaled softly as she watched the orange tinted sky for a few moments, falling back into reality. Aerials lifted upward, emerald eye sight sought out for her location.
Talons crackled as they stretched forward, briefly reminding her of the days when she had sprinted around, never stopping to rest - it seemed like so long ago, but she had in fact performed those excited dances just in the Fall, before the herd began to fall apart. Now, it didn't fall apart, to be honest, but it seemed like there was one tragedy after another. Ava's news of expecting offspring - her third child; it had gone Taya, her younger colt, who's appearance hadn't been mentioned at all.. To be quite frank, Taya doubted that the colt had even survived the birth, and it brought mixed feelings. No doubt, not a single child should be introduced to the world with Monte's bloodlines. Momentarily loosing her cool image, Taya's expression flat lined, and her banner was flicked around, slicing through the air in annoyance. Releasing an abrupt sigh, Taya shook away her nagging thoughts, trying to start the early morning on a better octave. Elegantly leggy form was propelled into a stiff, upright jog that managed to elongate itself. Dropping her neck, Taya lightly ran her dished muzzle over the snow covered terrain, feeling the dips and twists that had been created recently. Catching the musky odor of a stallion, lips curved into a pleased smile; she took a moment to glance at the lithosphere, then released a beckoning nicker for her first - and hopefully - lover, feminine voice sounding so crisp against winter's silence.
Another call was parted into the open, much quieter, but for the mere exuberance of the chill nipping at her draft-thick limbs, the mare began her search for Noel. Stretched jog become a static trot, then a canter, and the mare was soon making random bee-lines through her home, expertly striding over fallen debris that was scattered about. Banner flagged out, easily blending into the snow caked land, as did her ebony molted skin. Soft bark of laughter rushed through the mare's warm throat, and her body lifted in a one-two motion, thrashing out her hind legs in a sheer effort for having fun. Eventually, from the lack of movement for the last few months, Taya dropped her pace, slowing to a meaningful laugh, noticing how far she'd traveled from the hill top that allowed her to witness the dawn rising. Exhaling loudly, the mares aerials rose to the tip of her crown, and she grew still, trying to pin point the sounds of life inside her iced over home.
ooc; hm, my muse bombed at the last paragraph. x(
