I look around as i enter the unfamiliar terra. The land was covered in a newly fallen snow. As my pillars moved on my hoovens left a path following behind me as i moved. I knew I was a bit skinny, and probably not as appealing as most, but I was still going to try to make friends in this new place. My bay black pelt shivered lightly as a large gust of wind blew in from the north. The tall timbers next to me shook and dropped flakes of snow down onto my back.
Seeking shelter I found refuge in a small cave, sheltered from the wind. With a large sigh the air in front of me turned opaque then disappeared. I shivered slightly again to remove snow from my back. One good thing about winter I thought, no bugs. Oh what a joy it is without the bugs bothering you every chance they get.
Closing my orbs I gently dozed in the cave as the wind howled. Auds flicked back and forth listening very closely for danger. She knew in her state she was very vulnerable to predators.
Hearing a soft crunching in the new snow I jumped awake and slithered farther back into the cave. I listened intently as the sound grew closer and my heart pounded harder, I hoped, for my sake, it was just another equine. But one never knows.....
