As the last bats came over where the two where standing they began to fly lower, the beat of their wings hit Yarraman’s neck and some took parts of his mane with them. The breeze that came was no longer a comfortable one as the ones had been earlier, for the temperature had dropped.
Lamps caught Sophie glancing at something that had clearly caught her interest, curious as to what it was Yarraman turned his boa and when he saw what she had been looking at he knew what she was up to. She thought she had him, but Yarraman had never been captured by the spell of a mare and he didn’t plan to change that today, or ever.
When his orbs traveled back to where Sophie was, he was surprised to find her coming at him; thorns flew back at her sudden approach, but rose when she began to groom him. Even though his mood was friendly Yarraman was not a touchy feely horse. Pillars carried him a few steps away from the fae, this was not the way it was going to go. After Yarraman had stepped back Sophie had also taken her own backwards steps.
Sounds like my life but a killed many would also be in their.
Pausing Yarraman brought his past to the front of his mind, the battle with his allies and his father, yes there where two other stallions but the young dappled stallion had done most of the torturing, and he made the fatal blow. Some times he still wondered how his two peers where, the three of them had done great things together, and they would be his only true friends. Yarraman shook his crown that was al in the past. Looking back to the spot that Sophie had been drawn too h sighed.
It would be rude of me to make you travel back to Knife’s Edge this late. You are welcome to stay.
Before speaking again Yarraman smirked slightly. He locked eyes with Sophie his deep green orbs staring into her black ones. He showed no emotion and neither did she. They would be quite a match, with her tendency to like to get others temper to raise to his temper issues, it would be an interesting mix.
How long have you been living amongst Midnight Acers?
His voice was dark and shut off from any of the many emotions that where running threw his veins.

The dark bay mare tossed her dial, black tassels whipping at her muscular neck. She snorted and harks pricked forward at his words. She smirked again, and turned to her right, glancing at her surrounding, nothing but darkness, hauntings, death. This place was by far better than Knifes Edge. Ah, so the saying iis true, great minds think alike. Yet great horses are alike. The two would make such a good couple. And she knew it. However, she was not ready for all of that yet. she saw his gaze follow hers to the dry place that was sheltered by the hanging branches, fallen trees and caves; a sharp whip was emitted from her cord as it slapped against her hind, making a echo throughout the lands. At his words, she bowed her head ever so slightly Why thankyou for your offer brute. she stated plainly, however, she was unsure of if she would stay or not. She wanted to make sure the stallion would listen to her, care for her. Before she made and chances. I have been here for quite some time now. I have visited most of the lands, so i know my way around. I am unable to give you an exact date of my arrival.

Shifting his weight so that he was more comfortable, the brute repeated Sophie’s words over a few times. He was not one for sayings but yes in this case the saying seemed to fit. But, could too such great horses live together without driving one another over the edge? Only time would tell, yet it would be a tragedy if one was lost because of the other.
Soon after his last shift, Yarraman shifted back, his wound on his shoulder was becoming raw, as the adrenaline of the small brawl faded. The wound didn’t hurt it was just uncomfortable to relax the skin around it; a swim in salt water would do him good.
The offer was on the table, but was making it the right decision? Yarraman could see that Sophie seemed some what uneasy on her decision to stay or go. Either way didn’t matter to him, he just wanted to let her know that she was welcome. Yet, something deep down in his gut was telling him something else, but Yarraman was ignoring that voice.
Midnight Acers, from what I have seen, is a nice place. This terra is one of the darkest that I have owned. It might make me stay longer than I had expected.
There it was another glitch in the mighty Yarraman, never staying anywhere for long. It was how he was able to be so dark and cut off from the rest of the world; he spent most of his time alone. How would Sophie react to that?

Sophies gaze switched from Yarraman to the surroundings. When he shifted, she watched him, she liked to watch things, work them out. She was very wise for her age, she had seem what most would never see. A now soft wind twisted around the mare, asif capturing her, harks snapped back to her skull and she gave a small rear, as if someone from before her time was tormenting her. she kicked the ground with a hind leg roughly and walked to her left, closer to the sheltered den, she glanced back and stopped when the stallion spoke. Ah, even more alike are we? You are a traveller? Like myself..I have spent many years travelling with my fathers herd. Now, i have left him, i am now alone, well, apart from the company of yourself. She spoke softly, her velvet tones wrapping around Yarraman. She did not like him moving away from her. So, she stepped forward again. then paused So, are you alone here? Or do any more mares reside here?[/blockquote][/blockquote][/sup]

The beast was surprising him self, it had been a long time since he had a long conversation with another equine; especially on in which he told them about his past. Sophie was telling him more about her self then he knew about any other horse, well other than his fellow bachelors but that was still different for he knew all about them with out words being spoken.
Orbs watched her confused by the way she was reacting to the slight breeze, but Yarraman didn’t question her on her behavior. It was not right of him to judge one, when he him self was odd. So he decided to pass her actions off.
I traveled with a herd and two other stallions for a few years, the left, ever since I have been in and out of lands and owned various herds.
As Sophie took a step towards him, out of instinct Yarraman raised his back leg to take a step back, but stopped. One of these days he had to learn how to cope with the presence of another, and this fae seemed like a good one to start with. A smirk played across his maw as she spoke.
I am alone here, apart from you. I arrived today and was on my way to Zukura Brooke, when I heard the call of an intruder on my lands.
Yarraman’s first words where serious but as he neared the end of them they turned into a sarcastic tone.

The bitch saw his confused look, she wanted to tell him why she had reacted in such a way, but there seemed little point. She hated enclosed places, she hated being stuck, she needed her space, due to past experiences, being held tight by anything made her loose control of her body and mind. She turned into a great monster if she was threatened in that way. She stepped away from him again, playing with him, giving him space, it was obvious this stallion had been alone for some time and he was not used to other equines, quite like herself. You know, your beginning to make me think not to trust you to stay here Yarraman... she spoke. If i was to stay here, for tonight or longer, i would need your promise that you will stay. I do not liked to be dumped like trash you know. Yes, her words were snoty, but she was royalty, and she knew it, she would settle for nothing less. Ah, so he had just arrived, An Intruder? Surely I am not seem as one? i smirked at him at licked my muzzle

Will the wind carry him away or will she capture his heart?
The space that Sophie gave him, relaxed the stallion and he blew hot air out of his nares. It was like a switched role, the stallion was usually the one to be touchy feely and the mare would be the one backing away, but Yarraman tended to put a twist on everything. Thorns came forward and his body just tuned in on what the one in front of him was saying.
Trust, that was a big word. Yarraman only trusted three horses his two bachelors in the past and himself. He had crossed paths with many horses over his seven years but, none had been important enough for Yarraman to trust, that's why he never stuck around.
Sophie had just put Yarraman in a hard position, he liked her no doubt about that, but would he stay here forever? Would a stallion that traveled his whole life be able to stay in one place without going crazy? However, if he said no, she would leave and he didn't want that.
I would like it if you stayed, the night...
He paused and looked to the ground, a promise was something that Yarraman never made, or asked anyone to make for he didn't want to be let down .
If you wanted to stay longer, that would be great. But, I can't promise you that I will stay. However, I will try my best. You'll just have to trust that.
Well wasn't that ironic? The one who trusts no one asked a stranger to trust a wild beat who runs with the wind.

She felt the brute relax as she stepped away, and he was the first one she actually wanted to make happy, so, she stepped further away, and wandered a little, lowering her skull to the pines on the floor and sniffing them, she highered her head and looked across at him. Then if you want me to stay the night, i will.. She paused, liked her muzzle dry of the blood and continued. Lets say if i was to become the first member of your herd...what would you have instore for me? Of course, she wanted to know alot more about this place and Yarraman before she accepted anything. She would settle for nothing less than Royalty, the Queen of Taunting Marshes, what a title, she liked it. Stepped back towards him, she smiled. But then again, if youdid talk about leaving, i would simply have to force you to stay.. She cackled her evil laugh and shifted her weight. Despite his will not to the brute could not help but to trust his new companion. After living for seven years barley trusting anyone why did his heart want him to trust this fae? A fae who at first had been an intruder on his home, but had now become someone who made his heart race.
head: Your an old fool... it's simply the adrenaline. You are not going to get involved with this mare
heart; Now, you thick headed mongrel stop ignoring me. If you pass this, magnificent beast up, you would be an even greater fool. She already cares about you and you her. SHE IS THE ONE THAT IS MAKING ME RACE!
He was aggravated with himself, but he didn't know why. All he knew was that when she said that she would stay the night it felt like his stomach did a summer salt.
Yarraman thought about her question. He had never before been asked it. Mares just came to him because they fell into his temptation. But, with Sophie he knew it would be a different path, and he was ready for the challenge. You would most likely become my Queen. I do not appoint queens until I know they can handle a heard.
Pausing he took a step towards her, extended his boa and placed a soft bite on her upper neck. For the first time Yarraman listened to his heart and pushed his brain out of the way. I have no doubt that you would be able to handle one. It is just a standard I have always done.
Smirking as the last words left his maw, he chuckled to himself. All his other standards had gone out the window so why was he bothering trying to stick to them?
That would be interesting. For the both of us
The wind pushed threw the trees once again, and in the distance was the sound of a wolfs hunting call.

THe now shadowed mare sighed softly, her pelt becoming blacker as the night drew on, however, she had no intention of sleeping, she rarely slept, nor felt tired, she was always too busy torturing other herds for that. At night, was when she was at her best. Her pelt was camuflaged, her eyes as black as the night, her step, very light and almost invisable. Dial raised slightly as Yarraman finished his first words, for just a second, harks twitched back slightly, but then she forced them forward. Most likely is not good enough Yarraman. she stated, in a rather firm tone, but then he spoke again, and she simply had to chuckle Of course i can handle a herd you fool.. she paused and darted forward to nip him gently on the shoulder For the past 6 years i have handled many herds, i learnt from my father, the great, leader of the travellers. And you are douting my lead? Of course, he would be shocked, he would have to be darn stupid if he didn't know the travellers. everyone knew them, they haunted the souls of every living creature. As the brute nipped her, a high pitched squeal escaped her maw, and she struck her left foreleg high into the air then stmaped it back down, playfully. She was really begginning to like this stallion.

Knowing that the damsel was not happy with his answer, the brute waited for the fiery words that would come form Sophie. She was a very intriguing fae, and despite his instincts not to Yarraman had taken a liking to her. He knew the bay mare would not settle for second best, but would he be able to give her first?
Thorns shot forward when the mare spoke of the travelers. Then a rush of understanding came over the stallion, it all made sense now, it was why he was drawn to her. Ofcourse the beast knew about the travelers, in fact he had crossed paths with their leader many times. Although him and the leader where not friends they had an understanding of on another, for the older stallion had grown to despise Yarraman's father.
Well then if you have learned from the best leader of the travelers. In my mind Sophie you are fit to lead any herd. Especially as my queen.
With those words she spoke she had him. Yarraman knew that he would have a strong willed queen and Sophie and he wanted her next to him.

The dark bay mare smirked as his harkspricked forward at her mention of the trasvellers. Of course, he would be shocked, after all, they were a legend. She stepped forward to his side and nipped him lightly on the shoulder. Then your Queen I shall be, Yarraman. There, it was decided, Sophie would be the Queen of Taunting Marshes, live with Yarraman as her king. She smirked, and spun on hher heels, now was the time to explore the lands, she bouded in a flighhtly trot and tossed her dial, calling to Yarraman to follow her.
