All along, I as searching for, "My Lenore."
I had successfully claimed another mare. Was that the right words to use? I hadn't claimed anything; they aren't an item, they have minds. Successfully, not really, Scheme had followed me to the Lake. She might not even stay, we both just had the same mindset; get away from the sun. It was a drastic change in scenery. The endless span of plains suddenly riveted into thick, forested grounds. I could smell the moisture in the air. It was so enjoyable, a smile creased onto my facial features ever so quietly. My blue-green eyes widened, trying to get used to the sudden change in light. It felt like I was blind, but I knew my way around Black Lake, so I found it easy to locate the monumental lake. By then, I could fully see, and began to look for Scheme. She had been following me, but she might have lacked behind.
My voice was emitted calmly. It was a gentle call, my voice straining out. It echoed for a few moments, but I eventually stopped, lowering my dished crown to drink from the rather clean lake. I was tempted to step into it, but I refrained. I could wait for Scheme. The memory of the brawny, ebon tinted female made me chuckle. She had been so calm, and I actually didn't feel the need to spill my worries out on her, like I had with Jayila and Africa. That was good, I could practice being normal. Looking around again, I sighed slowly, snorting. The breeze, wringing through the forested terrain. It was easy to see why it was eerie. The sounds that the win created, it sounded like the whispers. At least, it was to me. My crown shook, shaking the thought away as I waited for Scheme to arrive.

Ashen flints were placed one in front of the other as she followed Riku. Whipcord, still, swaying lazily from side to side. Flicking off the daring pests that stayed out in the heat. Optics kept the brute in sight, as she trailed a little ways behind. The heat was showing it's toll on her. She gave a shake of her dial and raised it a bit, to take in the new surroundings.
Blinking a few times to let her eyes adjust to the light she moved slowly through the trees. Audits perked as she heard the sound of Riku's call. She didn't pick up the pace, she had no energy to do so. Nares picked up the scent of near-by aqua. Optics soon picked up the sight of Riku standing beside the pool of refreshing aqua.
"It's nice." Were the only words the mare could say at the moment. She lowered her dial and dipped her maw into the aqua. Taking in her share of the liquid before raising her dial. Her optics soon started to scan the terrain that she stood in. [occ;;sorry that it took me so long && that its suckyy]

In the words of Mr. Edgar Allen Poe.
My thoughts calmly left me when I caught sight of Scheme's ebon stained build. My own build, streaked with dapples of dark, steel tinted, remained still as she approached. The smile that I always had was flashed, and I nodded. Why did I nod? I just nodded, like a small welcoming. I turned to look at the lake as Scheme spoke. My auduals flicked forward slightly, catching her words. It's nice. Yes, I guess it is. Even if it felt like there was a presence around at all times, I guess it was nice. A soft sigh escaped me as I took a drink from the strangely clear waters.
"I think this is the one time I enjoy being in the dark."
My comment was barely audible, but I chuckled softly, staring at the canopy of trees and thick shrubs, blocking out all of the sun. I chuckle again, and glanced at Scheme, speaking again. My tone was welcoming, not at all a warning of how I could be.
"Was there anything you wanted to ask me when we left Dekera Falls?"
My voice was curious as I glanced at Scheme, grinning. Now I had to wait. There may be some questions, but I had to see what her reply was. I had a problem like that, I always jumped ahead, and replied, usually some smart remark. Let's not do that here.
