{ c h a o s You could spill a thousand words and none would mean a thing. [/color] Black optics were narrowed; nares flared to gain that extra scent, my muscular neck was extended, arching low to the earth underfoot, my steps were quick and silent as i advanced on the fawn i had in sight. I would not stand for weak and useless creatures in my land! An angry glint passed through my optics as i launched forward and latched fangs around the skinny neck of the pityful fawn, her squeals and shrieks alerted many other creatures around the area; a few ravens flocked above me, hopin to get some meat after i was finished with her. A viscious tug on her neck and she was silent, her limp body dragging by my forelegs. I let her losoe from my crimson stained fangs, she fell lifeless at my hooves and a small happy cackle escpaed my muzzle. Snorting loudly; i lifted my skull, i scented Lyric wasn't too far away. I let a short call towards her, asking her to come to me. it would be good to speak with her. I paced, circling the fawn, snapping my skull to the right as the mother dared take one step out of the bushes. I half reard, audits snapping back into my tassles, a warning to her. ooc: please would you just have Lyric for the first few posts? Then you are welcome to bring in the boys xD [/size][/color]

[glow=red,2,300]Lyric[/glow]
As the morning begin to tun into afternoon, the sun's rays attempted to break through the darkness of Hollow Woods but as always the sun failed. I was in a rather good mood this morning well for a dark that is. I mean Brydon was back and I was delighted to see that he had now leveled off his hot headed nature. And Shadrik was thrilled with the prospect of being a father, although he had been rather distant these past few days. Had something gone wrong. I shook my head at the thought. He and Emira and the filly where fine if not I was sure he would tell me.
Skewbald pillars carried my lean arabian frame over the green grass below. I had taken a trip to Coco Bay earlier and the dirt and blood that had been mixed in with me pelt where gone. It felt good to be back, well in some ways. Seeing Shadrik and Brydon was great but Chaos was really ticking me off. I had finally come to the conclusion that I blamed him for Brydon's disappearance for it was his fault. Well in my view it was. I mean would it have killed him to spend some time with his son. It hurt me as well for I was happy that I was able to repay the chestnut king for taking in Shadrik by giving him a colt, but no he just pushed Brydon aside. Well two could play at that game. A aggravated sigh allowed me to return to me good mood. I wouldn't let him get to me. Hell it wasn't the first time I had expected more of someone and they had let me down and I doubted it would be the last.
Slowing my pace my harks pricked forward as shrill calls reached them. The sound of the screams where the cries of death. I became excited and my mood became even better, as the thought of a creatures blood filled my mind. My tongue licked my maw, like a wolf waiting its turn for a feed. Another call reached my ears, and it was Chaos. Well there went my good mood. Harks pinned back and my chocolate orbs flashed with anger. I waited a good fifteen minutes before I started in his direction. Like I said two could play a game.
I stopped a good distance away from the chestnut, my neck was arched and my orbs still held their piercing fire. Well. Chaos. To what do I owe this interuption? There was no causual nip of the mane and if he advanced I would cease his actions like the day we had first meet.

{ c h a o s You could spill a thousand words and none would mean a thing. [/color] As the time passed by; i felt nothing but excited for Lyrics arrival. I knew we had some serious talking to do. But just to know she had the guts to disobay me made me proud of her. Like i had mentioned to Eris, i was very concerned about the herd. The offspring were turning into angels, not my perferred option. Not many of the foals here were dark, there was Shadrik, Brydon, Intrepid and Lilith...but what about the others? It fusrated me so; i had a title the darkest stallion to roam the lands of Midnight Acres and i wasn't about to give that up. I had worked extremely hard to be who i was, i wouldn't let it be snatched away. The rustle of branches and bushes made my audits twitch, i knew it would be no other than Lyric. So when her skewblad torso came into veiw, i wasn't suprised, bbut happy. I was in a good mood; but now, it seemed the amre was not. "Ah, Lyric. Nice of you to join me" I mocked, in a dark tone. Prehaps a small duel would settle things; get us in the mood for talking. I wanted to know why she blamed me for Brydons behaviour and his absence. Sure i had made a mistake; one that i had promised myself not to do again. But would she forgive me? I had given Brydon another chance, let him come back to Hollow Woods. He would be a great warrior, and next of kin if Intrepid left. But now, my first son was back. I hoped Brydon would be fine with the position i gave him. " So Lyric; why is it you blame me for the way our son acts? I know i should of spent more time with him. We both know that. But now, he is back, and in top form. What else do you need?" I asked her, my tone casual, yet demanding. I wanted answers. I didn't want this mare to leave, i was willing to give anything for her to stay, she had been with e for roughtly three years now, i couldn't let her slip from my grip. [/size][/color]

[glow=red,2,300]Lyric[/glow]Get ready to play baby. For the times have changed me. So what would the king think of my attitude? For after all this was the first time I had been a bitch to him. But heck I had fallen soft over the past two years and I needed to get my edge back. Standing before the chestnut stag my heresy orbs took in his masculine frame. Chaos hadn't changed much over the past three years, sure he had aged but one couldn't really tell. However, our well relationship had, and that was partly my fault. I had come to Midnight Acres scared both for my life and the life of my sons. I was a different equine shy and lighter then my true nature. Now I was starting to come out of my shell and it all was because of the promise I saw in Brydon. My boy was bringing my personality forward and pushing my mask aside. It felt good to be back to my bitchy self again. But I could see that my previous actions had mislead Chaos. For never in my life had I been so loyal to a king as him nor as obediant. But like I said that was all out the window I was back and ready for action. My orbs locked with his and I knew what he was thinking. He wanted to battel, and I couldn't agree more. Lets give the king the taste of who I really am. Let him take in my tainted blood but only if I got some of his in return. I laid back my harks and struck out at him my ivories purposely missing his pelt. I was letting him know I was willing to fight sure it wouldn't be a battel but rough play was always a favorite of mine. I circled him like a wolf waiting for its prey run into its waiting jaws. Well was it not your fault he left. I believe we both know it was. What I needed was for you to pay attention to him. He won't accept your teachings now. And you are lucky he returned Chaos for he would have been a firce enimie and if it wasn't for me he would have become your enemy. My vocals where in a deep growl once again resembling the wolf. Sometimes I question you. I mean even Lakita saw the promise in him but you casted him aside like he was some sort of mutt. I am here to assure you Chaos that I will not stand for having my sons treated like rubble. I hissed at him there was warning in my words it was suddel but I knew he would pick up on it.
Ceasing my movement I came once again to a halt in front of Chaos this time closer then before but still out of his reach. I wouldn't be coming to him anymore if he wanted me he could come to me. It was time I demanded some respect around here, now that I was back. Now Chaos. I am sorry to say that I have miss lead you. The mare you have known for that past three years is gone. She was scared for her life and that of her sons. I hate to admit it but I had turned soft and thought that I owed you for something, and yes perhaps I did. But by turning away Brydon you erased the debt. Anyways back to the point. With my latest travel I seeked my revenge on the equine that caused me to fear. Now that he his gone I am back to my self. And let me tell you I wasn't named Torturing Lyrics for the hell if it. I paused I had let go of my resentment towards him and towards the end my vocals became teasing. Consder your only warning king. I purred at him my orbs flashed with promise for a fun time. For it was time that I became more active in this realm.

{ c h a o s You could spill a thousand words and none would mean a thing. [/color] I felt a fuming fire like emotion rush through me as she locked her optics onto mine, black clashing with her colour. My audits flickered slightly at her words This was a side of her i hadn't seen before; and i loved it. I had been concerned about my herd becoming tool ight; leaving the darkness behind. I simply couldn't have that. So now, i had this new fierce painted mare infront of me, i had to get her to come out off her protective shell. Yes, she felt safe with me. She had forgotton her past, prehaps? Would this change her loyalty to wards me? I had given her and Shadrik a home when they most needed it. In return, i had asked for her loyalty. now, i wouldn't have her break that promise. "Of course. He would of been a fierce ememy, Lyric. And i understand that he won't want to learn my ways now. He has taught himself. He doesn't need teaching. I supose you could of called it a test. I saw how strong both you and Shadrik where. I could only see stronger ones to come. He has proved himself to me ven though he didn't realise. Don't you see, Lyric. He is a king, even now." I hissed, as she clacked her fangs close to me i let loose a cackle. Prehaps a duel would sort things out. I needed to know her loyalty, yet would she duel with me, to show it? My muscles twitched under my chestnut pelt begging to be used, yet i ignored them, focusing my attention on Lyric. As she spoke, i nodded, indeed, i sensed her difference, the nod was so she knew i understood her. I smirked at her when she spat her last words "consider your only warning, king." I licked tenderly at my blood stained muzzle and nodded again. "certainly." I purred back clacking my jaw together "Now, i pop the question. Will you be staying here? Or have you outstayed your welcome?" I asked, of course, i wanted her to stay, but it was her own decision. [/color][/size]

[glow=red,2,300]Lyric[/glow]
Extending my for leg I pawed the soft ground slightly in impatience. As the wind blew various scents for my nares to inhale. There was the scent of the equines in Hollow Woods and I was delighted to find that Shadrik and Brydon where near perhaps they would join us. But I wouldn’t call for them now. I was having to much fun. I didn’t bring my harks to attention as he spoke, but let them lay in a bored like manner. However I did hear every baritone lyrics. I also taught him Chaos. Most of the things he knows are from me. I know how strong my son and I am; I don’t need you to tell me what is already known. Sometimes Chaos I wonder if you underestimate me and my family I put a catty tone on my for after all I was their mother and both of my sons came to me for help and advice not Chaos. I saw the consecutive twitch of Chaos pelt and the fierceness of his orbs. What Chaos are you afraid to duel. Trust me you won’t hurt me. I purred and nipped at his chestnut boa perhaps I would break the skin and start the rough play off. I knew my answer to his question before he even finished asking it. But I wanted to make him sweat, so I waited a few minutes before replying I don’t know I mean I hear that Riku needs a few mares. My words where completely sarcastic. After all I had seen the dappled brute and just the thought of him now made me want to puke. Every thing about him just screamed corwardness. I was staying in Hollow Woods. Withier he Chaos liked it or not.

{ c h a o s You could spill a thousand words and none would mean a thing. [/color] When she spoke, i played the word underestimate over on my tongue. I flashed Lyric an evil grin, whilst clacking my fangs together, centimetres from her muzzle. "Correction, Lyric dear. I used to underestimate you. Well, who blames me? You lead me down a false path. now we are back on track. I like your true colours." I allowed the words to slither out of my kissers in a snake like tone. Extneding my neck low to the ground, as a lion would stalk his prey. Again, muscles twitched under my pelt, my eyes were musky, casting a glance over ast the dou coloured mare. "Come now then precious, we shall duel" I cackled, half rearing, flashing my ivories at her. As i landed, i darted forward, lunging fangs out at her delicate skin, hoping to draw blood on her left shoulder. I pulled back. That evil smirk spread across my face. As she lunged at me, her fangs pierced my tough skin, and i let go a laugh, pain was pleasureable, i ducked my skull to lick at the wound, tasting my dirty crimson on my tongue made me almost shiver with excitement. She waited, and i stood there, prancing on tip-toes, wating for her words and her next attack. When she spoke, i lay my harks against my neck, i knew she was sarcastic. Yet it still angered me to hear the words spill out of her kissers. [/size][/color]

[glow=red,2,300]Lyric[/glow]
Hearing the crack of a fallen branch and the sound of a creature brushing against a tree, I snapped my head to my right. Harks pricked forward and my eyes scanned the disturbed area for the intruder who caused the noise. I raised slightly on my haunches to peer over the cluster of bushes and gave a call of warning when I saw the haunched wolf. I knew that the bitch must have smelt the deer and was drawn to it but it was Chaos kill and his only. A smirk crossed my features as the sight of Shadrik standing over Cracken filled my vision. Now that young stallion looked good in blood it brought out who he really was. I knew that Emira kept Shadrik mellowed out and it was too bad for like his younger brother Shadrik could inflict fear with just a glance. The wolf looked up at me her blue orbs clashing with my mud brown she snarled at me but fled. I watched her go and wasn't surprised to find that she was underweight. Ever since the alpha's death the wolves had started to falter, clearly they where unorganized. I snapped my ears back as Chaos spoke. Your lucky I wasn't playing games with you Chaos. For I could have been a spy and you would have never known. Its not wise to underestimate anyone. I wasn't trying to be rude, it was a fact that I had learned the hard way. A witch like cackle came from my velvets with his next words. I thought you would never ask. Arching my sleek arabian neck I tossed my mane and flicked my banner as a type of dance. I stood still as Chaos bit into my shoulder, I would let him get a taste of my intoxicating liquid and the make him work for more. I watched as the king duck his skull to clean his wound. Mistake number one. Rearing I landed lightly on his neck and snatched his mane. I have him a few rough tugs and then moved mt maw to his neck. I snapped my ivories below his ear. His blood was quenching my thirst already. [/size]

You could spill a thousand words and none would mean a thing.
A sly cackle escaped my lips as she spoke I thought you'd never ask I arched my neck, eyeing her up. "I thought you knew me better than that Lyric; you want a fight and you may have one darling. Don';t you wait for me to come to you and ask. Your welcome for a duel anytime." I hissed, in a slightly seductive tone, wha wait..seductive? me? really? Jessh, this firl was a special one!
She was clever, and quick at making her attacks, i saw her coming for me, she reared, her heavy hooves clamping around my arched, muscular neck, as she tugged hard on my fire coloured tassles, i too, reared, only half way, hoping for her to slide down my body, my harks where pricked forward, not back. I wouldn't hurt her, not majorly, she was a good, cunning loyal mare, why would i do such a stupid thing?
I turned slowly to face her, my neck extended low to the ground, harks flickering eagerly. My muscles twitched under my red pelt, begging for use. My jaw opened and i clacked my fangs together, just inches from her muzzle, i broke into a fast trot as i came closer to her, and only when i was two metres away, did i dig my forelegs deep nito the dry sandy turf underfoot and lift my hind end up off the floor, spinning it around and hopefully catching her chest with a mighty kick.
I spun back around and veered away, snorting loudly, before turning to face her again, audits flickering forward, and then back, all the time moving. My ebony optics shone with happiness; i loved fighting, even more so when it was fighting to kill. But the odd friendly duel with a herd member always stirred things up a little. "And after this Lyric...whats to come when we settle back down hmm?" I teased, snappin ivories together once again, i waited, roughtly ten metres away from her, giving her space; giving her room to attack me.

[glow=red,2,300]Lyric[/glow]
Backing off a few feet away I began to circle the chestnut stallion, and with each circle I closed the distance between us. I cackled at the tone of his voice, that was a first. What has gotten into you Chaos. Are you trying to seduce me? I purred. And then just to top it off I batted my lashes. Hell I was having fun.
As the king turned to face me I slowed my pace, and locked onto his black orbs. I arched my neck away from his open jaws and pawed the ground lightly with my for leg. Causing a cloud of dust to form around my feet and hopefully into his nares. It was a dirty trick but hey he was the one who put his maw to the ground. I was slightly surprised by his advancement, but I made my own charge toward him. So who would turn first? Well apparently him. As the cloud of dust erupted in my face, it obscured my vision and I sensed his hoof to late to move. I felt my pelt tear from the impact. But I enjoyed the sound and the feeling I got from it. It was like I was a kid tearing open my Christmas presents with a huge smile on my face. Blinking the dust out of my orbs and blowing air through my nares-to get the dirt that had accumulated there out- I came to a standing position. So he had also used a dirty- no pun intended- trick. Well looks like are duel tactics had somethings in common. I shook my boa causing my mane to frill out and then settle in a somewhat organized manner. My hazel orbs clashed with the expreso coloring of Chaos's. His held excitement and yet I could tell he still had questions. But I knew that he would ask what ever was on his mind, he wasn't one for holding things back. I smirked at his question Now why would I tell you. It would ruin all the fun... I was slightly teasing him. But I didn't really know what was to come when this settled down. I wasn't one for planing I was more the go with the flow type of bitch. But yet again fall had come, perhaps he wanted a foal?
Charging forward at a canter aiming for his middle. I waited until the last second to slow down but I waited until our two bodies hit to move barley out of his reach. It wasn't a blood drawing action but merely something to knock him off balance so I could do this. Once again I charged at the brute this time going for his shoulder. Clapping my jaws closed I felt his blood ozz from his chestnut pelt and after a few seconds I backed once again out of his reach. Licking his blood from my maw and then parting i to speak. What do you want to come of it sir? I asked in a filly like voice. I was mocking him but in a friendly way.

CHAOS
You could spill a thousand words and none would mean a thing.
A demonic cackle escaped my lips when she charged for me. I lowered my skull to the ground to take in the impact, but soon felt pain ripping through my body, from my right shoulder. I gave a low grunt of pleqasure at the pain and raised my skull again, half-rearing and then returning to the earth to paw at the dusty dry ground. "I would like another foal from you Lyric." I paused, and stopped my movements; looking into her hazel optics. I knew she probly wouldn't want one again; after what had happened, but i was willing to try again, just to proove to her i really could be the father i once was.
My ebony optics searched hazel for answers. Would she trust me again? I hoped so; now wasn't the time for the herd to be untrusting and breaking apart. For in the summer; the war would begin. I looked away from her, raising my skull to growl at a few ravens that had settled to llisten in to the conversation; in fright, they toook off; i smirked, and turned to lick at the wound on my shoulder; my dirty crimson trickling down my muzzle and onto the brown earth. "So what will it be? I can understand why you would refuse my offer; but it is an invitation to show you the real me." I confessed; in a low voice; i looked up at her again; and waited for an answer.

[glow=red,2,300]Lyric[/glow] Deja vu?
My harks where pined forward, my nares wide and my opticals locked on the brute before me. I was in fight mode, and enjoying every second of it. The blood that coursed through my veins was hot and fiery just like my attitude. Who would have thought they day would turn out this great? However, I knew the mood was about to end my the serious look that took over Chaos's black optics. I sighed "Why do you have to ruin the fun? I purred letting each word flow out of my maw. It was my turn to be seductive. But that mood quickly ended with Chaos words.
As he stared into my orbs, I shut them off not allowing any feelings to reach there depths. A hundred things popped into my head as soon as I had processed the kings words. However I didn't speak I wasn't ready to give him an answer. So there we stood the mood completely different that what it had been mere seconds before. I could feel him searching me for clues to my responses but he wouldn't get any. Not this time.
Even as the black birds flew of in a bellow of screech's my orbs stayed locked on the king. I was trying to figure out what I was going to say. This had made me some what uneasy. I wasn't scared or angry just well I don't really know what I was. My hazel orbs followed the blood that dripped from his maw to the ground, and as they fell I counted them in my head. One, two, three, four... I stopped as Chaos spoke. His words where soft but I made sure I heard every syllable.
I waited a few more moments, shifting my weight and sighing I finally figured out my answer. We all screw up. God knows I have plenty of times... Now you should consider your-self lucky Chaos. I am not usually one for second chances. Especially with my foals. So there was his answer It wasn't direct but I knew that he would get the message. I hoped with everything I had that I made the right choice. If this turned out to be a repeat I would be leaving Hollow Woods.
I hope not...
OOC: After you reply do you want me to bring in the boys?

CHAOS
you could spill a thousand words and none would mean a thing.
The moment was tense; she kept her optics locked onto mine; i studied her, looking for answers, but she was too good, i got none I gave an amused snort when she spoke her first words. "There is plenty time for more, Lyric. It can''t all come at once." I smirked, hitting onto her seductive tones.
The erea was now quiet; she ignored the call from the ravens, and i continued to look at her. When she eventually spoke, i gave a sigh of releif, and a brief, quick nod. "I am grateful; and you must be too, for i am now apologizing to you, i don't do it often." I snorted, and took a step forward to lick at her crimson stain on her shoulder, i reached up and pulled gently on her tassles; i stepped back, and admired her, boy i was lucky this time; but i knew, that i wouldn't let myself down again.

[glow=red,2,300]Lyric[/glow] I smirked as I realized how uneasy I had made Chaos. I had not done it on purpose but still it was nice to know that I had some power to how he felt. But is there plenty of time Chaos? I mean do any of us really know? I laughed in my head. I was blaming him for ruining the fun when I had just asked probably the deepest thing I had ever said to the chestnut. However, my statement was true. For after all we would be attacking Black Lake. Who knew if we would all make it out alive? I knew that I didn't. Even though I was excited for the battle. I knew the damage something to this nature could cause. Heck, I had experienced it and it ended with my father’s death. What if this time it was Chaos? Or worse Shadrik or Brydon. There was no way I would be able to live with the fact that they died and I couldn't do anything to save them.
With the feel of Chaos tongue on my shoulder. I snapped out of m world of questions. And got rid of the worried look that had crossed my features. Ugh. I needed to stop all of this. This wasn't who I really was. You don't have to apologize Chaos. I know you didn't mean to do what you did. We all make mistakes.[/red] I reached out and nipped at his tassels.
My harks snapped back and I snorted. I was both surprise and pissed off. Spinning on my haunches, I sought out the creature that had nipped me. And as I found the intruder, I sighed and shook my head.
[/blockquote] [shadow=black,left,300]Brydon[/shadow]
A Gallant King in Sunshine and in Shadow [/u] It was a week or so after the herd meeting and I was just getting re accustomed to Hollow Woods. I had traveled around the land for a few days learning all of its ins and outs. I knew that Intrepid was back and therefore my shot to being heir was out. But if you ask me, I really never thought I had a shot for I am sure Shadrik would have received the position before me.
I was bored and so I decided to go find my mother to see what she was up to. Maybe we could go cause some trouble together. I know the fact that I want to hang out with my dam was odd. But hell she was great. Just the ideas that popped into her head made me blood thirsty. When I was younger, we would always be wreaking havoc on one creature or another. Killing was an everyday event for me. I wished that I had the pleasure of doing it still. But I could never find a suitable match. Perhaps I would have to switch to killing equines. After all there was war approaching.
As I came closer to the middle of the terra I scents my mother and the oh so lovely sire. I would say it called for the perfect sneak attack. I treaded carefully over the next 100 feet or so. I moved soundlessly over the green grass, my senses all focused on the two scents. After a few minutes, I could see Lyrics back. And I laughed inside my head. I knew that nether of them had detected me. Reaching from the bushes I nipped my skewbald mother’s rump and then stepped from my hiding spot. I laughed as she shook her head at me. ”Whats the matter Lyric. Getting shown up by your own son?”I teased.

CHAOS
You could spill a thousand words and none would mean a thing.
My harks pricked forward at her words, and i joined in her demonic laugh. "Are you suggesting there is the slightest chance one of us may be killed?!" I asked, my tone suprised, was i not the only one to underestimate? Surely not! I stepped my dark chestnut frame closer to her, nipping at her foreleg, around the bone. As she spoke again, i gave a nod of respect, so she understood me as i understoo dher. No problems.
I suddenly became uneasy; i shifted form my spot, harks pricked forward and optics wide. Living in a dark land made you wary, and able to sense when one was being watched. I let a low warning snort come from my muzzle; but as Brydon pounced out from the tree's and Lyric scolded him; i couldn't help the smirk that place ditself upon my muzzle. I looked over at him; had he heard our conversation? I nodded to him, and stepped forward; giving him a kind look, if that was what you could call it. "Evening Brydon; i see you have been practicing your attacks hmm? Good. You know, there is a war coming? You will be a great warrior, son" I spoke with true and trusting words, would he sense my new mood, or be his usual cocky self and get me wound up again.?
