You could spill a thousand words and none would mean a thing.
I was getting around all of the mares, slowly, but surely. Next in line was Eris, the first mare to step foot upon my lands. Since then, our relationship had grown strong. Sure, she wasn't my Queen, but she was second best. Such a loyal mare, always happy to see me. It wasn't dark behaviour , but when she wanted to, boy could she act it.
My firey pelt floated across the terrian, to a small thicket, not the main one, but one about half a mile away from the main clearing. I hid from the day, the sun killed me, it was far to light for my liking, it brought out the fragile creatures. And speaking of fragile creatures, i gently lipped at my muzzle, the blood was stil there, from the young deer i had killed a few days before.
I released a call for the ebony demoness, pricking my audits forward and waiting for any sign of her arrival. Lowering my skull to the earth, i ripped up the tender pieces of moss that were underfoot. the sumemr had brought out a small drought upon the south lands, small water holes had closed up and some food had died, due to lack of water.

Lustra! Stand still! Your making me feel dizzy! I said, as the colt ran round me in a small circle. He made me laugh alot. I giggled as he came to a heavy stop, panting. I nuzzled his sweat drenched neck and snorted against his coat. What would your father say if he saw you doing that? I asked, jokingly. He'd join in! was the response. I laughed again and shook my head. You wicked little boy! Go bathe in the water for a bit. I'll help you cool down... I said, sweetly. The colt ran off towards the nearest water available. I watched him go, and heard Chaos call. I turned and rolled my eyes, trotting towards him. I could smell him before I could see him. I knickered as he came into sight and sped my gait up to join him. Dear Chaos. You look roasted! You don't take the sun very well, do you?

{ c h a o s You could spill a thousand words and none would mean a thing. As giggling voices could be heard nearby, i grinned, Eris and Lustra would be on their way. Dropping my skull i snatched up more blades, before walking forward, still in the pleasant shade of the thick branches above my figure. "No Eris. I don't; it sickens me, i much prefer the darkness." was the reply i gave her, in a low tone, yet i held a friendly tone in my voice. "How have you and young Lustra been?" I asked, concerned, i snorted and looked around for my son. i hadn't spoken to him in a while. My gaze drifted off Eris, to the surroundings, the summer brought out the worst in the lands, it was much better in winter or fall; summer had to be my worst favourite of all the four seasons. During winter, the days were shorter and the nights longer. The weather was harsher, the thing I was built for. I looked again back at Eris and gave her a warm smile, I loved living here, it was hell.

I giggled at the mention of ours sons name and I sighed. He's trouble. Growing up fast! I need peace from him. He's nothing like Chantelle. I haven't seen her in a while? Have you? I do hope she is ok.... I rambled on and suddenly, my voice dropped. I looked at Chaos and stepped closer. Whats wrong? Is there something wrong with one of the children? I asked. I looked round, following his eyeline and then dropped my head to much on the grass. I ate a mouthful and rose my head slowly, sill chewing. I stared into the deep eyes of his and smiled back.

As she spoke, i chuckled. Lustra was indeed troublesome. I hoped he would grow up to be like me. I gave a soft snort at the mention of chantelle and looked at Eris with troubled eyes. "chantelle is living with a light stallion, goes by the name of Kantaro." I spoke with a low tone, i was ashamed, i wished chantelle had picked a better stallion to be her king, not a filthy light.
As she stepped closer. I extended my muscular neck and pulled firmly at her mane, my black eyes scanning over her black figure. "Don't be upset Eris dear. chantelle is intelligent, she can look after herself." I added, hoping to make her happy.

A white stallion? I smiled and nodded. As long as she was safe. I giggled at Chaos and approached him, nuzzling his cheek. I am guessing you aren't happy with her choice? I asked, jokingly. Would he take me seriously? Oh well. I smiled and looked around. Dear Chaos. It is not me who should be comforted. You must be devasted in your daughter... I said, my eyes turning warm towards my words to soothen their blow in his mind. I smiled kindly and closed my eyes. I could hear his breathing. I opened them again as splashing could be heard in the near distance. Oh, Lustra... I whispered.

I gave her a sad nod. My black orbs looked deep into hers. "No, i am not at all happy, Eris. I thought she would of stayed strong. Yarraman would of been a perfect choice." I kept my low tone, so no-one apart from myself and Eris could hear me. I stepped away from her; my firey chestnut pelt breaking out in a light sweat under the heat of the sun.
I noticed Eris had heard another, splashing, down by the river; near the cliff. I couldn't help but grin. I lganced over at the black arabian as she spoke. "Do you think he will turn out dark like Chantelle?" I asked her, i was concerned that my herd was going downhill. the equines residing here ad seen the lgiht, they knew what it was like to live in peace, and i didn't want that. It made Hollow Woods sound like a prison, but i knew i was only doing what was best for my mares and children. I needed them to be dark, like brysdon, like Intrepid. What was happening? I lifted my skull a little higher and arched my neck, a proud call to Lustra was released. I knew i should teach him the ways of a dark. I hadn't with Brydon, ad that was a mistake i wasn't willing to repeat.

I followed Chaos's head to look round at the sounds of splashing. I pondered the question as Chaos called for his son. I couldn't answer it. I heard the splashing stop then, the colt came into sight. His body was bigger since Chaos had last seen him. He had more height and muscle, equaling weight on his side in a fight. I smiled at him and shook my head as the colt got closer. You are on noisy little colt. We could hear you splashin around and we're amost a mile away! I said, stepping closer to Chaos. I smiled warmingly and turned to nip Chaos' neck. I blew warm air onto his cheek, and turned back to see Lustra, laughing. Can't I have any fun?

{ c h a o s You could spill a tohusand words and none would mean a thing. She didn't answer my question. I let a small frown form over my optics as i looked at her. I really couldn't afford for my offspring to become lgihts. Neutral, still i found hard to deal with. I wanted my family to be pure darks, like my mother and father, and brothers and sisters had done so. It all had seemed so easy. This was difficult. I let my red skull fall to the ground to lip up some dead grass blades as i waited for Lustra to appear. I let my black eyes clsoe for a few seconds, trying to think of a way 'round this complicated situation. I had taught Chantelle the ways of a dark, but it hadn't been enough; there she was, chasing butterflies with the light scum, Kantaro. She was more than that! Didn't Eris see? I did want my daughter to be happy, yet i couldn't stand seeing her with scum, i felt disapointed, like i hadn't done my job properly. Now, i would spend more time with my offspring, teahcing them the ways of a dark. As Lustra's black frame came into veiw, i raised my cranium. Black optics glancing over his body. He was bigger now, with long legs, he still had some growing to do. But it looked like all his 'playing and splashing' had payed off a little. Yet, dueling would be much much better. "Hello Lustra. How are you." I asked, looking at him with hard eyes. Now, he was almost two (?) and it was time for his training. He had had time to play, now things got serious. And i hoped he would accept my offer to help him become great. Feeling Eris's soft nip on my shoulder, i returned the faovur, letting my fangs latch around her tassles, i tugged firmly. Opening my jaw and letting them slip away from her mane, yet i remained in my position, next to her. Turning my skull, i looked at her, surely she could sense what was coming next? I knew she hadn't been happy about my 'training up' Chantelle, would she mind now? With Lustra; it was a different matter, colts grew into stallions, and brutes were so much worse than the mares. Lustra wouldn't stand a chance if he didn't start now.

I smiled at the feeling of Chaos nibbling on me. I snorted and looked the colt over. I smiled at him as he bucked his head up then back down. I'm fine thanks. So, I haven't seen the other kids around. Is there something wrong? he asked, so innocently. Bless him. I smiled and looked round at Chaos, expecting him to answer. I looked him in the eye, and then turned back to the colt. Your father's busy thinking. But I think he wants to spend some time with you. Like he did with Chantelle, but it's important you listen to everything he says. I said, kindly. I stepped forward and nudged the colt, who moaned and stepped back. I shook my head and looked at Chaos.

{ c h a o s You could spill a thousand words and none would mean a thing. As he spoke, i let a cunning grin spread over my facade. "No son. There is nothing wrong. Lilith is out in Taunting Marshes, dueling with some of the others there. And Intrepid is getting ready for battle with his new mate. There is a war coming, Lustra, you must be prepared." I warned him, that sly smirk still visable on my skull. I turned to look at Aris as she spoke And smiled, nodding to her in agreement. Her words were wisely chosen. I looked back at Lustra, with cold, yet powerful eyes. "So, Lustra, shall we begin your training?" I asked him, a hopeful look in my eye, I was glad for Eris's help on this topic.

Lustra looked to me for guidance. It was as if he didn't want to be like his father. I smiled at him, and nodded inconspicuously. He looked to his father and nodded. Ok, father. What's first? He asked, simply. I smiled and nudged Chaos, before turning to lie in the shade. I rolled onto my stomich and wached both equines. Chaos, with his strong build and musculer legs, and Lustra, with his long legs and strong facial features. I smiled and closed my eyes, listening to the vocals of the two as they worked or trained, whichever they were doing. I drifted into a slumber, whilst Lustra watched his father with open aware eyes.

I saw the look he gave his mother. A slightly scared look prehaps? I gave a sharp snort and looked at him with a deep frown. I was fustrated with his behavour, although i loved him as the son he was, i wanted more from him, he needed more from himself to stay alive. The war was coming, times were going to get hard, even for the true darks, would he survive the war?
I turned to look at him when he spoke, as Eris turned to lie in the shade, i ficused my attention on him. "Ok, Lustra, you must first learn to kill; it is an important skill, you will no dout need it in further life. The equines out there are willing to kill anyone who runs in their path, you must be ready. now, the easiest way is to go for the throat or the neck or head, those are the fragile parts in other creatures. So you must go and find some creature, even if its just a rabbit. There will be one nearby." I speeched, all the time keeping my ebony optics on his soft brown ones.
ooc; eek, sorry, pretty museless in that post!

Lustra looked oddly at his father. Chantelle had to do this as well? he asked, looking around. He strained his ears to listen around him. He heard rustling close by, and followed the sound. A few rabbits were scattered around the little clearing, and most of them ran off, just leaving two baby rabbits. One started screaming for it's mother, the other just sat and stared up at Lustra, with big eyes. Lustra looked down at each and closed his eyes. He mustered up courage from somewhere, then opened his eyes. Her kicked the screaming rabbit, and stood on his floppy ears. He lowered his head and gripped the rabbits neck with his enamels. He heaved a breath and held it as he pulled and ripped open a gash across the rabbits neck. Blood poured out and Lustra could feel the blood in and around his maw. He turned round and kicked the dead furball, into the bushes, before emerging himself, proud and tall.

I frowned when he spoke, flickering my audits back a little at his words, "Yes, of course she did." I snapped, licking at my muzzle. What would he think of my new behaviour? I hoped he didn't mind, for i had been far too soft on him, and the others. I had let them become something they weren't.
I stood silent and watched him kill the rabbit. A demonic laugh came from my muzzle when i heard it's last screams. Pricking my harks forward at his actions. "You must leanr the ways of a dark, i sugest you battle with another herd member, Lustra; Lilith prehaps, she will teach you the ways, or if your feeling brave, prehaps Intrepid or Brydon will teach you a thing or too. Of course, if you feel your not up to it; you may leave now, yiour old enough to begin a new life, do so; if you wish." There, i had given him permission to give up and walk out, of course, if he had it in his mind to be a nice bloke, why bother teaching him the ways of a dark?
